Workshop on Approved Persons Certificates issued in terms of Part 66,
Subpart 4 of the South African Civil Aviation Regulations, 2011 as amended.

The SACAA would like to engage with affected parties and organisations within the
industry regarding the processes and procedures relating to the issuance, renewal
and amendment of Approved Person Certificates.

The aim of workshop is to discuss the current status quo, challenges which are being
experienced by both SACAA and the industry, with a view to reaching a consensus
on how these issues will be resolved in the interim, whilst we work in collaboration
with industry to amend the existing regulations. It is anticipated that the workshop will
continue 28 June 2019, with a smaller working panel comprised of both SACAA
personnel and industry members who will be identified during Thursday’s discussions.

This workshop will focus specifically on requirements related to Approved Persons
and will not focus on airworthiness requirements, which will be dealt with through
another forum.

Due to seating constraints at the venue, there are 40 seats available to industry for
participation in the workshop which will be allocated on a first come, first serve and
sector representative basis.

All parties wishing to attend should please R.S.V.P. per email to both Neo Gouwe
and Mary Stephens at the following email addresses gouwene@caa.co.za and
stephensma@caa.co.za and include the ARO or section of Aeroclub to which you
belong and your interest in the workshop i.e. Approved Person, Aircraft Owner,
Manufacturing Organisation, Aircraft Maintenance Organisation etc.

Please note that individual applications are required, no group responses will be accepted.
The closing date for responses is close of business on Tuesday, 25 June 2019."
