How else do they combat Savannah being so much more cost effective? The grounding note was over a year ago.....many aircraft get grounded following an incident until they are given the all clear....boeing included....

Yep, I saw this whilst researching before purchasing. I think under the circumstances its amazing the AC managed to take off !

It was tied down outdoors through a few 'seasons' in Norway (they dont have our nice weather).

The kits now have a separate loop attached to the wing (not the strut) for tie down and a removable inspection plate. The fast reaction by the supplier impressed me. I agree with FAWGie WRT the criticism...

Have a look at http://www.skykits.com/Comparison.htm for the other side of the coin... in particular glide ratio etc...

Oh, one more thing, I have one of the first batch of kits imported to SA and all the mods etc are included. I also had a look at the ICP site and I see they dont have the advisory on line anymore, so if anyone wants it, pse send me a PM and I will send it.

I posed the question to John Waterson, the Savannah agent in South Africa about the issued raised in the article and he responded by answering each of the statements that were in the article.

I have attached his response as a link below....well done John....keep up the good work supplying a cost effective NTCA aircraft for GA to the benefit of all.....

http://www.electrodynamics.co.za/savann ... sponse.pdf
The original text is in black and John's comments are in red......

Having done many hours of both flight and instruction on the type with careful pre-flight inspections, I have no hesitance in recommending this aircraft.....
