Well, we currently have only 2 engines for airplanes (helicopters excluded), already mentioned above. Both tested for years and continually evolving.
We had the time, skills and passion for radial series so we have begun developing. But that doesn't affect our boxer series - for example we've added oil cyclones, different propellers, injected versions, the list goes on.

However to recommend something, you would have to be more specific. We have customers with JCV 360 (35hp) as well as with VM 133MK (83hp) on their trikes.
You can choose Rotax or BMW, it's a very legitimate decision. We can't compete with amount of Rotax service points and BMW... makes great cars... uhm.. but I believe we prevail in power/weight and power/price ratios.
As you might not believe our 'lab tests' on our dynamo, in attachment is 133MK vs 912 comparison from pilot in Poland. Our curve is the one that climbs up to the top. And mind the date - decade of evolution since then.

As there are plenty things to consider, picking the right engine isn't easy. And I hope you'll choose the right one, even if it isn't ours, and be satisfied.
Have a great day and fly safely!

Nobody has mentioned UL Power.
Maybe a bit big for a trike though.

KFA, have you had any experience with these engines?

Thanks KFA - you answered the question, however im still not convinced as the BMW is not an aircraft engine, id love to hear from someone who has used this engine for long periods, and what the true experiences were in terms of failures, niggles, maintenance costs, running costs etc.

A spanner in the works below with vernermotor's dyno graph - you cant argue facts i guess, and the price versus Rotax is certainly much lower!! HOWEVER who has used this engine for long periods? what experiences, problems, maintenance, failures, running costs have been experienced? Cost for a TBO/rebuild?

ULpower - is double the price in Euro to verner motor -- once again for us South Africans, this is a problem! We need a reliable, fully backed up and supported, cost effective solution in my opinion.

I guess no matter what engine you choose, the questions remainthe same, at least they do for me. I want to know that im in good hands with reliability firstly, service parts, service knowledge, pricing (Rotax fails dismally here, but the knowledge is certainly there!!)

Only really bad ones....The engine looks OK but the service from the manufacturer and their attitude sucks.

Hi ou Geel Kerneels. Daar was reeds 'n Verner engine in Suid Afrika. (ek dink sy naam was Dougie of iets)

That has got to be the most shocking website I have ever seen... I truly hope they did not actually pay any money for it... (**) (**)

Yip, I am waiting to hear about my demo motor but they have been working on the Turbo since 2011 if I am not mistaken. They did not want to send me an engine until the certification was done. I have been waiting in anticipation. The 138 hp engine is about 10 000 Euro's. I can just imagine what I will be able to to with an Explorer with that amount of power. puff puff puff

Yup. Every time I mail them, they say 'soon'... Do you have an estimated selling price for the NA version?
