Longest non-stop flight in a trike.

Read an article about a Gyro Pilot who flew from Hoedspruit to Donkerhoek, near Capetown in one non stop flight.
Tom van der Meulen did that in 10 hrs 25 min. and set a new worl record of 1572 KM.
He got airborne with 266 litt of fuel and landed witk 2 lt left in the tank.
Impressive I would say.!
Can anybody tell us if there is an existing South-African record being set up by a trike?
Maybe there is some-one brave enough to attempt something similar.?

But that would surely be exceeding the MAUW of 450kg's??

I think Mike and Olivier hold the record? Iceland to Scotland if I recall on their South to South trip....something like 8 hours???

50L full tank plus extra on the back seat. I don't think MAUW is a prob? More a problem of where to put the extra fuel...same as carrying a 100kg PAX...that's a lot of extra fuel potential! I'd also say it would have to be done on "pre mix" if a two stroke?

Surely the Gyro was way over it's MAUW as well? 266 liters = 186kg plus Pilot at say 90kg = 276kg...
