Hey Witwillem,

You must download a QR Code Reader to your phone - then you must scan the secret message that is contained in the QR Code next to your photo in the mag. Your skelm wife wife sent me the message.

If your copy does not arrive in the post you can pick one up at RAASA and at the Aero Club. If this happens please do check your address on Fundi by contacting Thelma.

Enjoy!

Fly safe,

AAAHH i havent got mine -- how do i get this mag??

How often is this mag published? Is there advertising opportunities inside?
Over the past 15 years or so we produced a quarterly magazine that was 52 pages in length. In recent years it became more and more difficult to get content in and we ended up writing much of the content as the demand for the mag remained huge. This year "Bundy" rose to the challenge of producing the monthly e-mail "Newsletter" with JB. This opened the way for my suggestion to combine all four quarterly mags into one mag (208 pages) that would go out early in November when we know (more or less) who the members are. Most members only renew their membership late in the year. As an "Annual Coffee Table Edition" the editorial policy changed to be more of a "manual" on our sport. Stats, committee feedback, what to fly, how much does it cost, conversions, insurance, what to look for when buying etc etc plus some stories.

We need comment on monthly e-mail newsletter plus an annual printed mag vs quarterly mags. Your feedback will influence what we do next year as this was a trial run!

Advertising?
We produced the advertising content from invited suppliers and there is no charge for it. You will find that the commercial content is mostly a "brochure type" layout as it tells you what your purchase options are. Our intention is to showcase the industry to our members and to go out and get the content that we believe they should see. Thus we try to be inclusive rather than only show info on those with budgets. In the past we showed paid for adverts in the quarterly mags.

How do we select suppliers to be included?
Each year we host the 'Shootout" and will do so again on 8 February 2014. Next years mag will feature all suppliers that enter the shootout and who made material available to me. This was the process used for this mag also. This year some suppliers were not included as they did not send material. I delayed the mag for 2 months whilst I "begged" for content from schools, suppliers, AP's etc. In the end I finalised the mag and am happy with the end content mix. If you know of any supplier that wants to enter the Shootout please do ask them to e-mail nemo@webo.co.za The overall winner gets the back cover advert and all entrants ( whether they win a category or not) are invited to offer content. If the content allows it to be "story based" then we will try to offer more space eg John Waterson got one of his clients to send in the story about the trip to Botswana and so they got a number of pages vs those that only offered an "ad."

I hope this helps to understand my editorial policy.

Well done MISASA and in particular Alan ! Got mine today, haven't had a chance to go through in detail but surely looks spectacular vhpy , albeit somewhat crumpled thanks to SAPOS.

How the hell the post office manages to force it into a 100mm x 100mm post box cubicle boggles the mind. Will see if I can straighten it out by placing it under my mattress for a week. s115

Again, thanks a lot for a fantastic publication (^^)

Careful Roel...depending on "extra mural activities" it may be even more crumpled after that!

Looks like the "postal service" swiped mine  ...still nothing in the post but luckily Alan Mack saved the day by delivering me a few boxes of them!

Any Microlanders need one? I will be taking a box to the airfield on Sat...will leave with Mervyn so go grab one gents! (^^)
