Cash or finance

Postby DieselFan » Wed Jun 14, 2006 9:30 am

I wonder what percentage of microlights are financed? I wanted to set up a poll but not sure...as I would like to have separate stats for trikes / gyro / 3 axis?

1. Trike cash
2. Trike financed
3. Gyro cash
4. Gyro financed
5. 3 axis cash
6. 3 axis financed

Could this be done in one poll? And have it auto calc the cash vs fin split for all and each?

My apologies if there's prior poll like this.

would be nice to see. But when you say financed does this include taking a second bond to pay for your trike or are you only talking about finance as with one of the finance houses ??

Firstly thanks to whoever made this a poll for me!!

If you took and 2nd bond on your house hmm, one of reasons is to see how many people would be FORCED to take insurance. So I would say 2nd bond = cash.

No, I'm not an undercover agent for SARS, I will openly say I work for them  in the hope of having my name removed from their subscriber list. -0<

I tried a couple times to get finance for trike and 3 axis. No luck. Seems (back then) most finance companies do not understand the aviation game and are using car finance jockeys to "cover" aviation as well. Sadly lacking. They are just not geared for it. 5 year old car is worthless, but they insist on comparring it to a 5 year old blik aerie.

That said I did have some luck with preaproval on ZU-FLY until Martha's demise put end to my trike escapades..... Seems DJ&A and AFS can help. There are some strick requirements least of all is the servicing/mantenance/insurance. Think if you agree to have AMO(trike AP?) do the maintenance they would be more open to it.

Problem from finance house is the resale on default vaule. If they finance a 912 with all the bells and whistles what stops an unscrupulous (sp?) operator from flogging the 912 replacing with 582 and some steam guages when he needs the cash? There is simply no Bond microlight market environment... Some of the newer LSA & plastic fantastics are helping astablish this though (Jab's, Sting, Foxbat etc..)

Good luck DF....
