Ek glo nie Stef sal saam jou daar stem nie chom..... Remember his post on my "What we learnt Thread"??
Stef: "Here's what I learnt...DON'T prang your trike!"

But in the bigger picture yes... (!!)

Would be interesting to see the difference in opinion between LSA and WCM with regards to this subject? :)
Yup. I was there when it happened - remember? Would the fitting of a BRS have saved the day for DBP on that fateful day? It might have been more spectacular, what with DBP careering of over the fences with a big useless parachute spoiling the view from behind!  (We can laugh now, but it was NOT funny!)

Point is: LOTS of accidents happen on landing, under 50 feet. The "chute" is then "mute". But the pilot walks away.. broken wrist and all..and the prospect of phoning BUNDY - probably the most painful of the whole experience!! vhpy (^^)

A phone call I'll never forget chom...but human life will always be more important than any machine. Machines's can be replaced...DBP is living testament to that fact. (^^)

We're straying off topic here a bit... ^

The ballistic chute will remain an optional extra, that in the right circumstances could be the difference between life and death....no real right and wrong answer here. It's all about "risk", and risk management.
If you want to fly with NO risk....give up flying  ...there will always be some element of risk attached no matter how safe or prepared you are.

Hi Tailspin,

Speak to Nicow and GawieL on the forum.

They each have one for sale.

Thanks
