Have an AP check out your engine. Maybe even, as a precautionary in preparation for your 2 month Namibian odyssey, insist on a top end overhaul. i.e. Decoke, new rings, new gudgeon pins & new small end roller bearings. Costs about R5 000. Some AP's recommend this overhaul at 300 hrs. FABA's school did 1200 Hrs & 1400 hrs with their training 582's and recently replaced them as a precaution. At Petit the instructor had a crank failure at 310 hrs.Blue Max wrote:![]()
My Rotex have 900 hrs on the clock.
I bought it at 320 hrs.
I use any available mineral two stroke oil.
Whether it is mobil, caltex, lawnmower, chainsaw, outboard or what have you..As long as it is two-stroke oil.
Have a nice day.![]()
