Hang Glider Aero-towing

Postby Oscar Plange » Tue Mar 26, 2013 12:11 pm

Hi All

I have just joined the forum, as a hang glider pilot... Not nosy about your activities, just keen to make contact with Microlighters who could assist us!

Intro
We aero-tow behind a a Microlight from ground to 2000ft AGL and then release to find thermals repeatedly and fly long specific tasks. This towing normally occurs in thermic conditions - which is what we need to get up.
Our Tug Pilots are experienced in this kind of flying, but are also hang gliders who would like to participate during these comps or fly-aways, so we need a dedicated Tuggie...

We require the services a a pilot who has the following profile, we think.
1) Relatively experienced comp pilot, keen to increase his hours.
2) Time-flexible to join us on a long weekend, with prior consultation.
3) Keen on improving his skills and the challenges associated with this type of flying.
4) Keen on the associated financial benefits.
5) A social person, who will enjoy the outdoors and camaraderie.

We will...
1) We will start an Aero-Towing Training process till the applicable Rating is achieved and until everybody feels comfortable with things.
2) Pay for accommodation, travel and a daily towing fee.

Please contact me should this be of interest to you.

Many thanks Nico!

Just to clarify, we operate out of Aviators' Paradise and have comps at other locations generally in the North of SA.

Kindest regards
Oscar

Sounds interesting, but not sure we can gain financially for the service.
