Goeie more,

Wie kan my help met raad, my trike het +- 5maande gestaan, het gister gaan vlieg, opgestyg en in die circuit gevlieg en gaan land. Weer opgestyg en n low level gedoen oor die runway, tydens die low level het ek vol krag gevlieg en op die einde van runway het ek handle bar uit gestoot en vinnig geklim, +- 80 meter bo die grond het ek n engin out gekry, verder was dit erg, dankie Liewe Vader ek leef nog.

Nou probeer ek vas stel wat het verkeerd gegaan. Daar is 15liter brandstof in tenk, was nie van plan om lank te vlieg nie!

Kan iemand my help met enige advies wat kon verkeerd gegaan het.

Het die motor weer gestart toe jy geland het?Kyk in jou tank of die petrol pypie nie te kort is nie(gaan hy af tot onder in die tank),was jy die hele tyd full throttle, of het jy dalk te vinnig petrol getrap... :?:

ek vlieg n Aquila 503, die tenk het nie n pypie wat deur die prop afgaan nie. Ons het dit getry start,maar sonder enige sukses. Daar was geen krag op my instrumente na die voorval, so ek vermoed dat daar drade af is. Sal more of Woensdag die trike gaan haal en kyk of daar enige drade af is. Die vorige dag (Saterdag) het ek gevind dat as ek die petrol stadig intrap bou die revs op tot 5700rpms en dan smoor die engin, ons het die main jets skoon gemaak waar die probleem gele het, daarna toe is alles reg, dits hoekom ek gaan vlieg het. Trike het seer gekry, vlerk is stukkend.

Baie jammer om te hoor van die voorval net bly jy het niks ooregekom nie, mens kan 'n aerie weer fix (^^)

Morning

A few questions then I can maybe help.

1.) Did you use fresh Juice, Did you drain the old juice out :?:
2.) Was the plane covered :?:
3.) You say the plane stood 5 months, How long did you run the motor before you started to Fly :?:
4.) During your pre-flight, did you physically look into the tank for any stuff debris in the tank :?:

thanks manne! Ja ek het weer gister gesien hoe goed vriende vir n mens is!!! Ons het na alles gekyk voor ek gevlieg het, ek wil graag deel wat ek dink wat kon verkeerd gegaan het, sodat die mense wat hier lees dalk nie dieselfde mistake as ek doen nie.

Omdat die trike lank gestaan het dink ek kon daar van die petrol verdamp het en,nie alles nie, daar was teveel two stroke in petrol, toe ek lowlevel flight gedoen het, full throttle het petrol verbrand en toe ek opgaan toe word die plugs dood gegooi met twostroke dits hoekom die engin gevrek het, DITS WAT EK VERMOED, kan dalk nie waar wees nie.

Nr 2 is omdat daar nie baie ptrol in was nie het die trike vinnig geklim, gestall en toe ek die neus laat sak het het die fuel na die vorentoe van tenk gevloei en kon die pickup nie fuel opsuig nie dit hoekom die engin gevrek het.

Ek vra raad en se nie dits wat definitief gebeur het nie, probeer slegs die oorsaak kry. Kyk na alle moontlike oorsake!! Les wat ek sekerlik geleer het is dat ek petrol moet uittap as die trike so lank gestaan het.

Tailspin

Mistake number 1, i didnt use fresh fuel
Mistake number 2, i didnt check into the tank, just look from the outside to make sure theres enough fuel
i covered it and i run the motor on Saturday for more than 30 minutes and on Sunday aswell.

I'm sorry to hear of your incident Heever, glad you are OK. I'm sure you will find the cause after carefull analysis and advice...you must have an AP inspect it and find the cause. Old/dirty fuel is my suspicion....

Did you report your accident to ATNS/CAA Sir?

Jis Jong Els Bly om te hoor jys ok , check air filters , as hy lank gestaan het , oppi 503 Isis filters geniet om stop op Teagarden want hulle is olie rig altyd , petrol is oud , ou olie verbal en word soos gom , jets ver stop die spiffier innie kafferbyter word Vuil , self die floats word swaar , te eel petrol en ngebuigde trike en n Barlykaart , reporter maar Geri's die ou opsie en jy het verde metti manne van lug apart , Praat mettie grown mannetjie Hyt baie spares witwillem

Heever your post is giving me cold chills. Aircraft kill and you have to be more carefull. Pre-flight? If an aircraft of mine (especially 2 stroke) stood for 5 months I would not even attempt to start it without a proper checkout by an AP. Was this accident (damaged wing) reported to CAA?

Please listen to us - aviation is EXTREME fun but EXTREMELY unforgiving..................Remember this and you will fly for many years.

Sorry to hear about your aerie,Heever, and most greatful you are ok. (-) I go 100% with Bundy, get an AP to check her out. (^^) Sounds like fuel starvation. Fuel standing for 5 mnths evaporates and leaves behind a sticky brown toffee like sludge resedue. Difficult to remove, even manually with carb cleaner. (**) This glue blocks all jets, even the largest, the main jet, and is like colesterol, it comes lose and moves around in the fuel system until it blocks someting, always critical. ##

B.T.W. Die Rotax 582 en 503 is onafhanklik van die vliegtuig se bedraading...d.w.s. as jy die engine op n' stand sit met brandstof maar sonder die vliegtuig, avionics en bedraading en jy trek die pull start dan sal sy start, maar sonder die magneto skakelaars gaan jy sukkel om haar te stop. ##
