Not as rattled as my last "landing" with him!

Well The Beautiful Dawn is now ready for Hurricane Katrina... (no not really)

Pre made my tie down "hitching ropes" and set the whole thing up nicely...bought a whole lot of ratchet cams which make it a nice and straight forward process. Moved the ropes inside the wing inspections to the correct position. Bundy's grippa system works like a charm.

Elands...here we come. (^^)

Morning all,

Herewith the final detail around the planned Elands Trip this weekend.

Confirmed as going:

Bundy
Paul and Dionne Mulder (Require pvt room)
Asterix (Potties)
Jaco and Chantelle (Require pvt room)
Pieter
Louis Cole (Jakkalsdans)
Frank and Sharon Smallwood. (Require Pvt room)

We are flying one of two ways:

1: Direct FABA to Elands Camp 70NM
2: FABA -LOSKOP-Groblersdal-Elands 93NM

The weather will be the deciding factor here. We plan to be rolling at 5AM on Friday. I will be preflighting and packing the night before to save time. We can meet on the threshold at 04h45 for a final "briefing" and then hit the sky.

Elands Camp is equipped with what we need. All you need is some spare clothes and cash. (^^)

Cant wait, gonna be awesome. (!!)

Will be at ML on Thursday pm to do packing & pre-flight. puff If we could all meet there at 5 ish then we could discuss the proposed plan. (^^) Emergency procedures and radio procedures we will use on route.

No problem with ground support Al, Paul has all the support we need and on route we look out for each other. (-) Pitty Stef can't make it. :(

Weather forecast now looks terrible for Friday/Saturday, both at OR Thambo and groblersdal. Rain forecast most of the day on both days according to windfinder. Do we make a provisional go/no go decision on Thursday? Here is hoping that the weather improves by Friday.

Holding thumbs, just spoke to Paul and Louis.

I'm still confident we can make it up on Fri Morning with a return on Sunday. I advised Louis to try and ferry through to ML tommorrow morning instead of Thu (which looks horrible) but I leave it up to him to make a call.

Pieter...Frank...waars julle?

There will be a preflight and short "briefing" at ML on THU early evening (about 17h00) for final details. Let's get the trikes packed and fuelled and ready to go come sunrise. (^^)

Frank here. I will make every effort to be there at 17:00 on Thursday I may be abit late as I am working in. Ru I managed to get BOG back from the Vaal dam this morning. Left at 05:00 into slightly hazy sky with mist patches in places. Visibility above 500ft over ground was great. About 70 minutes flying time. See you guys on Thursday. Weather forecast looks a little better today. Here's hoping so.
Cheers Frank
