Jeez Mulder...you are persistent!

Sorry Chom but I cant buy Hans's Safari.... are you getting commission or what? No bucks and the specs are not what I have planned I'm afraid.
Next year..... after I destroy my credit card for the TRO....a new trike will be born...with a paint scheme like you've never ever seen before! (^^)....let's just say the dominee will not approve! :)

Jaco...wat maak jy boet?? Chuck that strobe away and get a decent one like ours....it survived Stef's best efforts to destroy it!...and it has a safety cable so nothing can fall off!...Go open my hanger and have a look..... Very glad your prop stayed in tact! Sterkte chom. :(

Frank, you are more than welcome to join us, I have not yet done my own planning but we will reach consensus re waypoints I'm sure in the next week or so. (In fact I think Paul has posted some above?...will read it later.)

Contact Blue Max on Oh eight two 55 nine 6115, and ask if he can arrange fuel for you? Accomodation will not be a prob I'm told. Is there beer at Elands camp?....well...does a bear sh!t in the woods? (^^) Gonna be a cracker, glad you can come. Remember to take the Friday off! 8)

Hi Alan,
What time roughly do you expect to be there Saturday
Morning. I would like to meet you and Paul for tie-down and other advice.
Have arranged the Friday off. Sounds like this will be a blast.
Can't wait.
Cheers Frank

Hi Alan, I have most of the Northern SA airfields waypoints (482) on my GPS III plus. Includes runway and frequency info. puff I will bring my laptop on Saturday then we can load them on your GPS if you want them. Your GPSIIIPilot has the Jeppesen database in it, so you should have all the airport, VOR, NDB info available. How accurate/current it is for RSA I wouldn't know. My III plus is for a car, so I have to add all the aviation stuff. You can download MapSource or BaseCamp for free at www8.garmin.com/support/mappingsw.jsp. ^ vfrplanner is also great because it factors in METAR info. It also calculates your fuel burn, distance and TAS. It also exports to MapSource/BaseCamp format, so you can load the route on your GPS'r.

Waypoints- Loskop, S25 25 55.3 E29 23 27.7, Groblersdal airfield, S25 11 12.0 E29 24 22.6, 05-23, grass/tar, 900mx20, 122.4 MHz, call 5 miles out. Alternatives, Moosrivier, S25 02 32.9 E29 21 40.7, 02-20, dirt, 760mx10, 124.8 Mhz, Rooikraal, S25 15 02.5 E29 39 39.1, 13-31, dirt, 480mx10, 122.4 Mhz, Marble Hall, S24 59 15.2 E29 17 02.0, 04-22, tar, 1000mx10, 124.8 Mhz , Private AF S25 01 58.3 E29 13 06.5, 08-26, dirt, 850mx10, 124.8 Mhz. Destination Blue Max S25 01 57.3 E29 08 01.0,05-23, dirt, 430mx10, 124.8 Mhz. On the way back, Rust de Winter Dam, S25 13 54.3 E28 29 25.3. Hi Frank, I will be there early at around 5am....got quite a few things I need to work on.

Be careful of advice you get from Mulder...dont know if we can trust a man with a haircut like that? ^

Thanks for the details Paul! (^^) I must check my tie down kit as well! I think I am a few pegs short ^

Aaaaah....at least after the unnecessary uitkak, someone had a "lightbulb moment" ^ Next time engage brain first...then type!

James, I've volunteered for some pretty stupid things before, but leaving my plane at home and driving would not be one of them dude.

The Eland's weekend is Stef's with DBP. Rather than have one of us miss out, we've decided to share the flying on a trip like this (and future one's as well). When you share a plane, one must share the time and share the fun too. (^^)
The Oosthuizen's are busy creatures...you have to book them two months in advance and make an appointment!
Stef might not be able to go in which case I will fly both there and back....this is why I have told the guys that there may not be a vehicle avalable to cart crap. ($$) ($$)

Some suggest we should fly together... but for me, cross countries and PAX do not go together. My personal philosophy this so dont take offense anyone.

I am going to service DBP on Sat morning and then drive through to Louis, I will bring DLY paperwork as discussed. (^^)

Louis Cole, my flying partner in the TRO will also be joining us for the trip to Elands. All three TRO pilots together.... (^^) (!!)
Ja oukei you got me - but it was confusing! On face value I was worried. THEN remembered... Thx for the papers - I'll see on Saturday morning. Driving in. We have thunderstorms moving in from the north now every single day here in Poloks. Big Ones. Sometimes they even "let loose" in the morning, before the sun is up!

BTW - I agree with your take on X country and Pax. Pax is for little flips in good weather. (Also - my personal take - )

You just jealous because you don't have a Pax. Sleep warm in the winter and in her shade in the summer. Jokes aside, it is safer for the pax but makes no difference to me. Little more fuel, faster landing and longer take off, so what. It's worth it when she is there to share in the fun and the experience. If I need ground support, then she drives, maar saam gaan sy, because she can. Each one to his own. (^^)

Alan, I just hope these boom booms in the afternoon stop for that weekend. ## I don't think anyone wants storm or hail damage. I hope Paula has a protected spot if the boom booms pick up. No tie downs will stop her in a severe thunderstorm. (**) Only way is take the wing off or in a closed hangar.

See you at ML tomorrow 5am. Hope we get a gap. puff

Ja these Charlie Bravo's are always on the lookout for a helpless samoosa.

As James says, we are going "out of season", but that is CC flying i'm afraid, as Forest Gump says "you never know what you gonna get" At least D can help you hold onto your plane if it comes to that....will pretty much be everyman for himself!

I have never been to Elands but from what I can see there are many trees around, we can hopefully secure the trikes under the branches where we can get some relief from strong wind. Otherwise...climb in...and hold tight. ## (**)

There is nothing wrong with taking a PAX paul.....completely a personal choice. vhpy
Each to their own (^^)

Plus Dionne is now our official photographer (ek het sommer klaar besluit)....she has to come with (!!) (^^)

See you in the morrow (^^) I've got plenty to do...

Yip each one to their own. (^^)

Between the trees will be the best option else wing off. ## los die bobejaan agter die berg.

D is perfect for the photies, I can not take photos in the last moments of finals with a X wind. That is when the the eyes and mouth are the widest never mind slap tjips.

Right guys, Blue Max needs to get supplies etc ect,

Can we confirm the following people for the Elands Trip on 7th-9th Dec?

Stefan/Bundy
Fiezel
Paul and Dionne Mulder
Anthony Hugo (Rhino Park)
Asterix (Potties)
Madman
Jaco and Chantelle
Pieter
Louis Cole (Jakkalsdans)
Frank and Sharon Smallwood

Plan is to be rolling at 5AM chaps. (^^) If you are not gonna make it please let me know so Paul does not cater/accomodate for you. He has said there is no need to book, the honeymooners have their private rooms.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN FUEL. Those carrying Pax please arrange with Blue Max for cans on that side. I will be taking 2 x 25L cans for the trip.

Over night bag and some "randellas" is all you need. Dont forget your tie down kits!!! ##
Paul has posted the GPS coords above, it's a very easy VFR routing though guys. My GPS will just be for back up. 8)

Who is flying this Sat? Maybe catch you there at Faba?
