Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
I am still waiting for my radio license, 5 months now. I received a second aircraft license after 4 months of complaints via email and phone. Same problems last year. Only after I had a email tiff with the ceo did I get my license. I think that was 11 months late. The latest update is that I will receive I in a weeks time. LOL!!! Sorry, but my vote goes against ICASA. I think RAASA can take this over as well, they are the most efficient.

Hey Gadget,
I think I have the correct person but if not, I hereby apologise. Your 2012-2013 licence fees were paid, together with the fees for another licence held by a Mr Fourie, as a lump sum of R240.00 into Mr Fourie's account on 23/02/2012 (somewhat less than 5 months ago!). Possibly as a result of a subsequent query by yourself, but also possibly as a result of a corrected oversight by our HQ, R120.00 was only transferred from Mr Fourie's licence account to yours on 16/05/2012 (2 weeks ago). The licence was released for printing on 16th May and would have been posted during the week ending 22nd May or maybe even last week depending on work load. This means that the licence document may be expected to arrive anytime from now and if it hasn't got to you by the end of the second week of June, please let me know and I'll try and find out what has happened to it.
May I just comment that, although it is possible, and sometimes very convenient, to make a combined payment iro several licences, it is imperative that a breakdown of what amount must go to which licence be forwarded to our Finance section in Joburg and that, if nothing is heard after a reasonable period of time allowing for mail delays and the like, the matter is followed up rather than just leaving it in the lap of the gods and hoping the licence will eventually arrive. That way leads to licence cancellations in the worst cases! It is far better and much less likely to introduce mistakes to pay each individual licence separately but I accept that sometimes, for various reasons mostly connected with accounting processes, it is not always possible. In that event a breakdown must be sent to our HQ.
Regards to all,
Peter

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Peter.
I have the one license and Greg the other. When I renew them next year I will transfer his to mine as well.
I have subsequently received the one license but still no the one we are discussing here. When payment was made in the beginning of the year I phoned and made sure I got the correct email address for one of the staff and mailed her the breakdown of the payment that was made. I have been in communication with her ever since but as expected I either don't receive a reply on my email or I am told it will be sent next week. The payment was made in January but failed to go through. I then struggled for nearly three week to get the correct banking details. Trust me, I have many emails to proof what I am saying. I know there are staff at ICASA that try hard to assist but that company needs to work on their processes. I have subsequently sold the one plane so wont be bothered with it's license anymore.
Regards,
Gadget.

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Gadget,
If you've sold one of the planes, please don't forget to cancel the licence otherwise you may still be held liable for the fees for next year if the licence is not cancelled by 1st April 2013. It's an easy thing to do and just requires a letter from you quoting your existing licence number (the one for the plane that's been sold), requesting cancellation with immediate effect and, if possible, contact details of the new owner. You can send the docs to me if you want and I'll forward them to the responsible officer in our Joburg HQ.
Anything else I can help with, please let me know.
Regards,
Peter

Still nothing. I have in all the years never received a statement from ICASA.

There may yet be hope if there are people like Peter Leonard working in the bureaucratic halls of government.
Good on you Peter.
For the record, we experience good service from Eileen in the Cape Town ICASA office and have no major problems. Have the paperwork right, do what she says and its easy.
Gadget, Just ask Cx to sort it out with Eileen for you.

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
