If low flying kills, then why do you want to practice killing yourself? Almost an oxymoron I'd say! We've had three trikes in power lines in three weeks.

Here's my take on low flying - use it or lose it -
NEVER fly low level -
1. Over unfamiliar terrain or terrain that you have not surveyed from safe height (500')
2. Over terrain that you can't land on
3. Up a valley
4. In a river valley
5. Into the sun
6. Downwind if wind exceeds 10mph
7. In the lee of high ground
8. Below 100'
9. When cloud height is less than 500' agl
10. In close formation
11. If being distracted (taking photos etc.)
Power lines (salami slicers) can "breed" overnight. Don't rely on looking for poles. By the time you see lines ahead, it will be too late.
What else?
Like I said, use it or lose it.

John
