Flying A.I.D.S.

Postby Ou Man » Thu Jan 26, 2006 8:49 am

Bacchus informs me with a high degree of authority, that Flying A.I.D.S.(Aeronautically Induced Divorce Syndrome) definitely exists.
Is there anybody ouy there that has firtshand experience of this phenomena and if so, how can you prevent/treat it except by abruptly ending your flying career? -0<

I think that most women don't mind having some time off, so if your wife will probably not mind your time at the airfield if she has something else to do (and the cash for it) at the same time.

Remember that guilt is a valuable tool in any relationship, and that men HAVE to feel guilty, and woman HAVE to make a man feel guilty. Act guilty and you'll probably be safe.

Best is to tell her that the flying costs around 40% of what it really does, (which she is free to spend on the hoppy of her choice) and then spend another 10% of the value of flying, making up for "stealing" family time.

Best option for any aviator is to have a woman who loves flying, but that can be very, very expensive, as you can't hide the true cost of flying, and other expenses such as more and more flying machines, aditional flying outings, flight suits and gadgets can take its toll on flying as well.

If she is a bad back-seat driver in the car, you have no idea what is waiting for you if she has to be passenger seat in an aircraft. Best to get her her own.

Well, I am quite sure if you ask David Levy for some advice, his will be much better than mine, but the female perspective in a serious situation like this can be a very valuable tool....

The answer is quite simple...put the missus in the back seat. With a bit of luck, you can get a neck & shoulder massage while you're flying. It works for me!
