Mike tells me it had a hard landing at the Bundu Bash and did some damage to the main undercarriage . When I spoke to him he was in the car on his way to Upington to trailer it back.jcvb wrote:What happend now? He had so much "bad luck" with BMZGregg wrote:Trying to fly Mike Cathro's Jabiru at Panorama but he keeps damaging it. Also rated on the Cheetah but battling to find planes to hire. Looking for something to buy as getting serious withdrawal symptoms.
Since I've known this plane it's had an engine out, then lost the prop recently in flight and now this! Definately time to get my own plane!
Demon - Always suspected that you have a split personality.demon wrote:I am the South African agent for P & M Aviation. I have the privilege of flying with an awesome bunch of aviators from Rietfontein Airfield in Honeydew. We have had many great and scary adventures together. Currently I am flying a Pegasus Quantum 912.

Ah Robert, Yes he knows, but the lone ranger is always on his own mission, hence name "lone ranger" , he rarely flies out on Saterday with the regular guysRedeye wrote:Greylingr-- How come the lone ranger isnt in your pic of the springs guys. I think he must be one of the highest hour trike pilots I know. Does he know about this forum ?

I try to fly as many aeries and as often as possible......
I Fly the following - (Have access to or own or am partner in - What Demon likes to call my toy box - Syndicates & partnerships help keep costs managable and similar to owning 100% in old Witchita iron. I find the H&F route does not work for me & can't understand why not more Microlight syndicates - seems perfect as they tend to sleep at home most nights. For eg 4 R50K you could get 20% share in new 3 axis or serious trike and fly it for similar price to school aerie, but will be NEW - Also utilisation will be higher and thus bring cost per hr down)
1998 Vans RV4
1981 Cessna C182RGII
2003 VW Cubby (by Cubby wings for Africa)
1981 KR2 (soon to make its maden flight )
Pending - 19?? Fokker DR7, 19?? Teenie Two & trike of some sort... (Looking for a Syndicate for a 912 if there is any interest out there)

Hi All
I fly a real aircraft from my own strip next to Aero 57 (near Lasertronix) at least at the moment it is still at Crosswinds but I will move it over soon.
My pride and joy is a Thunderbird MKII (plse Demon see correct spelling here). Reg # ZS-VOK. Serial # SAA2 the second T-Bird ever built!
She was ge-VOK for a couple of months (a story for another topic ) but now she is be-VOK again. Did my flight test last week, so as soon as I can get to CAA I will be back in the air. :D
Ps When I had more practice on this Forum I will post a picture of her
About my signiture: That has been the most common question asked when talking to the non-converted "But it can glide, not?"
