near Loskop Dam ?

Postby udher » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:21 am

Hi All,

did look at easyplan but could not find any airfields close by Loskop Dam.

I am looking for any airfield close by the dam, 300m plus long, that will accomodate some microlights and where one can get some lunch or so and where one can transfer fuel from the spare can.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Udo

Potgietersrus-about 120km from Groblersdal with a 1,8km tar runway and a 500m tar taxiway,and microlight friendly.

Dont forget Raasblaar Lodge and Carpe Diem. Both long runways and I think they are only 10-15 miles north of loskop. Both have very nice overnight facilities and enough food and (^^) to keep the Springs Manne happy

Hi, vhpy
What I want in a fly away destination is a runway where you can taxi your aicraft to your bush hut or to a hanger or a safe place very close to your bush hut.. vhpy vhpy That is what Elands Quad Camp and Microlights offer you.. (!!) Also fuel to be obtained... (!!) And also a breakfast, Brunch or braai.. ( if you book in advance) (!!) and overnight facilities at affordable prices. (!!) The owner will most likely fly with you in his trike to Loskop dam and also to two other very large and unknown dams in the area. The Rhenosterkop and Orabie Dams. vhpy
Go to the website www.elandsquadcamp.co.za. as suggested by Maximillian above.. vhpy The site is not up to date but will give you a good idea of what is happening there..There are some photos under the heading Bushveld weekend Destination aswell.

There is a new private strip about 3 miles to the south of Loskop dam very close to the concrete tower and is 800m long.
There is nothing else just a strip (^^)

I do not have co-ord but from Middelburg to Groblersdal there is a concrete tower 10miles north of Middelburg and that is where this runway is. (^^)
