FIELD 18 should read: OPR/ your name and tel number RMK/FCC your AUTHORIZATION number (not security code) RMK/SAR NIL

The SSC is used when applying for flight authorization.

These atns guys are very efficient. I submitted my FP on File2Fly and 1 min after submitting I got a call from them just to clarify a few things ( first time to file FP!!). 2mins later FP was authorized.

Remember to carry your auth codes on board - SAAF could request them on radio.

Seems like there will be fog in the morning, so if you've filed a 0500Z take off, you'll need to delay the FP on 0119286439

Hope this helps guys

Submitted my application on Thursday morning 8h00, again requested this morning and now 36hours later still no response. Anyone else that we can contact for authorization, or else incompetant saaf will force me to fly illegal and without radio work. If they want to create regulations they must have the right people / system to execute these regulations.
NOT IMPRESSED BY THEIR SERVICE!!!

Thanks Stephan. Received an e-mail this morning from colonel de Villiers stating that they don't give flight authorization, only security approval and provide you with a security clearance code. Must then get flight authorization from (012) 312-2625. Still waiting for security approval from them.

I am stunned by the efficiency and promptness how the authorization is handled. Got an e-mail reply within minutes with the SSC. The dude answering the phone for the authorization code was on the ball, and I had the flight plan authorized within minutes by file to fly. If only all other government departments were as efficient in our beloved country.

Regards,
Arnulf

Arnulf

You are very lucky. We are still waiting for our SSC since Thursday after numerous e-mails and requests already.

Now, dear Massimo if you can not even read two posts above, how the hell are you going to manage to fly the flight plan once you manage to get a number. You need 3 knock on the head with a secondhand profile tube. ##

Mr Nel,

You know that 2 stroke oil mixed with a profile tube make a great slippery combination, enabling "the tube" to enter places previously unkown to "the tube" which could become a painful affair for yourself.

Hey there are so many numbers and names and and and flying around all i wanted to know is who to call for step 1! Well i got it all sorted now so dont bother. . . Not that you ever any help anyway. All you do is dream of your profile tube all day. ($$) ($$)
