I followed the Chalkie record with pride because he is a member of our Brits Flying Club !

He is (at 60) such a gentleman, yet loves his speed. Stands maybe 1.68m high, yet has more stamina than a bull . Well done Captain !! Likes fast cars too !

As for Mike and Sling, even more anticipation coming up !!

What a year for SA aviation ! Fantastic.

Yeah, Followed his track and progress with interest. What an aviator with enormous spirit. Congrats to all concerned. (^^)
I don't think his record will last as long as the Henshaw record did.

Was there to congratulate him yesterday. Makes us proud to be South African. Well done Chalkie.

I gave it a bash for the first time posting a YouTube video. See my video clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdArDRqguYA

I have also flown with him on B737's and he's so down to earth. Nothing gets me more than some guys whose ego's are so large, you battle to fit into the cockpit because their ego gets in the way! What a role model.

CAA might not allow NTCA to overfly built up areas, but they seem to manage to fly from Cape Town to London and back again, and break a 70 year old record as well. Maybe this might make them re-think NTCA, or maybe not...Wishful thinking... :?
