Yes the 2.43:1 ratio is the better one. Try it first with the 2.27. It SHOULD be OK with the 3-blade Ivo-prop. It is hellishly expensive to change gears..... The 2-blade props is very rough on certain ref ranges. True. I have not noticed this on 2-bladers. Get the aerie finished so we can begin test...

Affordable Cross Country

Pieter Freylink phoned this afternoon. He flew his new baby from Saldanha, on the West coast to his home base, Syferfontein. Saldanha to Kimberley, one go, used only 80 liters. Total time, just over 8 hours. Mmmm, much quicker, safer AND a lot cheaper than driving! :D :D

I cut my teeth in flying behind Lycoming and Continental engines, with panels full of gauges gadgets and the likes. The VHF radios worked with "Valves" and "Crystals"....different crystal for every different frequency. AND then there was the HF 'coffee grinder" radios. The guys in CT kakked you out ...

Glass cockpit

Ian, glass cockpits are the new thing. The GX 2 system weighs only 960g. A panel with all the instuments displayed in the GX will weigh well over 6Kg! In this light planes we want them to be as light as possible.

Another new one!

This is Bushbaby Explorer no 115, now going together fast! The engine needs petrol, then it can start. Only the trim colours on the wings to paint, then this one will be flight ready!! I can`t wait!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
