MGL Avionics are great. They are Proudly South African and have a whole host of instruments to choose from. Check them out on http://www.mglavionics.co.za Personally I want my primary instruments as non-electrical as possible, i.e. ASI and ALT. The last thing you need is a blown fuse to cut out your...

As 150 said you need to post the image to a server somewhere, say www.myserver.co.za and then in order to insert the image you do post the exact location and name of the image i.e. http://www.myserver.co.za/thepic.jpg . NOTE this is not a real server just for the sake of the description. Iceman I ca...

Friday afternoon took my daughter on her first ever flite in a microlight. She is a nervous passenger at the best of times and screamed "oh my gosh..." all the way down the runway. 5 seconds after becoming airborne said "hey this is actually cool" and before landing asked when she can start learning...

Here's my hit list for dealing with noise in your avionics. Read it carefully, follow the instructions, and you w...

I did some digging and found out Castrol Super Chainsaw Two Stroke oil is available directly from Castrol in Cape Town and probably elsewhere in the country. They are at 66 Auckland Street, Paarden Island (021 511 0574) and the price is R193 incl for 20X500ml case. That's half the price of the stuff...

My plane has done most of it's 480 hours on unleaded. I only recently bought it. When I was completing my licence this year my instructor, who will remain anonymous, almost banned me from the airfield because I brought in unleaded. He was superstitious about it, blaming it on all sorts of evil. So I...

This forum is a collection of like-minded people with a specific interest in Microlights and related issues. I know we are part of the greater aviation community but we have special needs and interests. There is no reason why people can't join both but I believe the best way for a forum to be succes...
