Re: Fuel Filter

I also agree - the last time I filled up using my funnel I noticed water in the funnel sump. Goes to show that you can't trust the gas you get from the garage.

Re: Solo flight ?

I almost hurled in the cockpit - legs were shaking so much I struggled to taxi in a straight line (I was in a C172), but once I rotated my training took over and I had a awesome flight. Training, training, training...... ($$) ($$) The real challenge for me was my first solo cross country - 350 NM on...

Re: Challenger Approach

No idea but the local agent is helping me. I have bought a BRS and it is getting installed this week - so we should be ready to rock and roll in 2 weeks time. I am busy converting my Canadian PPL at FAGC - write Law on Friday and will go for my flight test on Sat - should be ok...

Re: Challenger Approach

On the test flight in Cape Town I was cruising at 100mph - the new LSA is pretty quick (in microlight terms). I will still need to get used to flying under 120 knots!! The aerie should be in JHB in the next 2 weeks - we are trying to get a temporary flight permit (the ATF lapsed). ## ## ##

Re: Challenger Approach

Except that I have to move the Cherokee every time I want to fly :x :x :x :x I had to move 172's in and out of hangars in Canada all the time so its nothing new! Does limit you when you want to get away quickly! Guess I can't use my plane as a get away vehicle. ##

Re: Challenger Approach

Hey Dish - Gregg and I checked the hangar on Sat and it looks good (if your a sardine that is). I will reverse in on the right hand side behind the Cherokee and Gregg will park next to you on the left. Now I just need to get my conversion done and my plane up here!!! puff

Re: Challenger Approach

Mmm, I must admit that I was surprised at how "big" the Challenger looked in the hangar. We will make a plan though. I am considering making up a dolly for moving in and out of the hangar - the same type the guys use to move cars around workshops. (!!)

Re: Challenger Approach

Yup you got me. Gregg and I are going out on Sat morning to have a look at the hangar. Pity we have to pay double for our parking space - will have to make sure Gregg parks in the back. I should have the aerie up here next month.
