Re: Oil Injection 582

Hi Greg, I am having the exact same phenomenom on my 582 Silver Top with autolube and have had no solution up to now. Only thing that it can be it that the auto lube system throttle lever doesn't fully go back to it's closed position although I never found it to be stuck half open as we suspect the ...

Re: IVO Prop

But let me add on the tracking issue that with a measuring tool you would be able to set the pitch of all blades the same but will have to work with the little cam plates that bolt onto the cam shaft by either taking some material away(filing etc) or adding some onto(welding perhaps). But it can be ...

Re: IVO Prop

I have done this with GREAT success. Depending on how different the blades are, it can be balanced with weights around the hub bolts but only by a prop shop technician and his specialsed timing light tools etc.. This is usually for very fine end tuning. But I had contact with the IVO guys and they e...

Re: Omaruru Microlighters

Hi Sebastian, Great to hear from you and even greater to hear that you have indeed discovered probably our largest (although small in your terms) gathering of mlights in Nam. We actually had something going in UIS this past weekend. Uis is a little mining town about 100km north west of Omaruru. A fe...

Re: hang block lubrication?

Hi Guys, There are a few options. Firstly, you can you use a wax spray used to lubricate motorbike chains. We found that the one distributed by Castrol is the least sticky. Problem is still that dust tends to stick to this and by doing so produces grinding paste but as said, the Castrol one is the l...

2-stroke in carburettor bowls???

Hi Guys, I need some help/information: Whenever my trike (582) stands for few weeks, I always find the bowls, especially the rear one, filled to normal float level with 2 stroke oil - very little petrol with it (evaporated perhaps). It's an autolube system and only logic I can make out is because th...

Castrol 2T Oil mix-up

I used Castrol 2T (mineral) on my 503 for many years - no problems. When I bought some more oil (a few 500ml's) I noticed their contents certainly lookes like ordinary golden oil - not blue or green as two stroke should. I am not sure if any of this ended up in my mixtures and took it back to the Ca...

You are probably looking for a specific size motocycle battery. These are usually lead acid type but really expensive, probably more expensive than ordinary automotive battery. Agrees with Carel, go for ups gel type batteries. They are about a third of the price, lasts much much longer. You get lots...

You mean like 4x4 stuff?
Jip, our country lends itself 100% to that. Almost everyone has some sort of 4x4(almost like Sandton, JHB :-) ).
Big desert like country with wide open spaces, relative small population, good beer as I have mentioned and so on.

Bud, Castle??? What are you talking about??

Yank my man, Don't get misled by these guys, their advise on what plane to get is GOOD, but their advise on beer is BAD - please don't believe it any longer. Just go out, get yourself some Windhoek or Tafel Lager and make your own beer at home for friends you don't like ........... If you ever get o...

Nuts and Bolts Set for a RAPTOR

Hi Guys, Not sure if this should go under accessories wanted but I would like to know how to obtain a complete nut and bolt set for a Raptor trike due to some corrosion indicators. I presume the best option is through Manfred but maybe someone else can assist me just as good keeping in mind all his ...

Attaching a flag to trike

Please advise me on the effect of attaching a flag (short enough to not touch the prop) to the king post of an trike.
What side effects can be expected and what should we watch out for?
