From photo 6 of 25 it looks like there are two prop blades in tact. Engine failure perhaps. Sad news

Re: Motorcycle helmet on trike + proper seatbelt

Ant The thing is where do you want to stop, should i wear a chest protector for that bird strike eventuality, and lets not forget the motor cross boots to protect my Ankles in case i have an out landing on a rough runway. . Should you wear a chest protector? No. Should you wear motorX boots? No. Sh...

Re: Phalaborwa

Think it will be a fine according to weight. Trike and gyro will be fined less that a PC 12 but thats just what I think. Anyway next time I will get approval for in case I have to divert. I have no problem with them wanting a landing fee (its a very nice airport) or even the fact that they require a...

Re: Phalaborwa

Thanks guys. Sias I was not that low on fuel and still landed with more that the required min so I did not feel it justified a PAN call. I just felt that looking for a usable dirt strip would waste more fuel than routing for a known airstrip where I have landed without problems before. I can underst...

Phalaborwa

I flew down to Phalaborwa in the gyro last weekend. Flew down the Saturday planning to return Sunday. When I arrived at the private strip 30 miles from Phalaborwa where I normally land I found the recent rain caused some damage and I decided not to land. Knowing the area from many previous microligh...

Re: Very Disappointed with the flying community

Does not matter how they do it, just separate the condolences from the "learning" and your problem is history but I also think the accident section should be for members only.

Re: Very Disappointed with the flying community

This is funny! I actually agree with all parties here. I understand the point VATSO is making, but speculating about what could or should have happened is where we learn. I think the solution is simple. Report the accident under the accident and incidents topics and give the fallen pilot the honor h...

Re: Harrismith One Stop

Depending on what you fly and what fuel you need I would fly to Escourt and land at the Ultra City on the southbound side. Nice grass strip with a windsock. Have n breakie and refuel. If you need afgas rather land at the main airport in Harrismith.

Re: African Pilot, Aeroclub and us "thugs" (NOT)

Let's just go a step back. 15 years ago, Misasa made a lot of noise on the Aero club board and agm, some similar matters, but mainly financial issues. We were the biggest outcasts and were called all sorts of names. As predicted, Two years later the Aero Club was technically insolvent and the good ...

Re: Turbulence

You do get use to the bumps at some stage. Big bumps give free alt and that is always nice.
From what I could see some very good flying. Let the plane do its thing and dont fight it to much, enough speed on finals and flew the plane onto the deck with power. Well done!

Re: Collapsible fuel bladder 20 - 25lt

I have a bladder that is simply used for refueling the trike at far out locations. It takes 100L and folds up to fit under my previous trikes (Blade) seat. I use to carry a 25L container behind me to top up the tank between long legs. When having to refuel the 25l container and 68l tank at deserted ...
