Gyro theory
A concept that I always struggle to understand is what makes a gyro pitch up to climb and pitch down for decent. This is how I have it feel free to correct me. For the climbing By moving your stick back you would increase the pitch of the advancing rotor 90 degrees with the fuselage increasing lift,...

Re: RAF Flight Behaviour
PIO is part of a RAF and is mitigated by training. Have a look at their track record. I am not aware of any PIO fatalities except 2, first one was lack of training and second one heart attack. How many people were killed on other types due to fire ? Was anything done after all the promises? Fixed wi...

Re: RAF Flight Behaviour
Hi Len Are you suggesting that SAGPA follow the world and not make their own decisions based on track record in South Africa ? Here is a few examples if you do Magni’s in other regions have to be fitted with a longer mast. It has been proven by engineers that the mast height is not correct. Feel fre...

Re: RAF Flight Behaviour
The RAF is UNSTABLE but Eben and has dad have proven that it is possible to overcome this with adequate training. I think their track record speak for itself. PIO is a reality but so is stalling a fixed wing. Does not mean that fixed wing aircraft should be fitted with BRS chutes in the event of an ...

Re: Fuel system options?
Hi Justin The 914 have 2 electric pumps running from the main battery. A light on my dash will come on when the alternator stop charging the batteries. This has happened 45 minutes from nearest landing spot. I completed the 45 minutes by switching to one pump and pulling circuit breakers for all the...

Re: Fuel system options?
Hi Justin Keep the current setup with a T piece. Put a non-return valve in current line before the T piece. Have a second line with fuel pump and regulator into T-piece. The non-return valve will stop the fuel pumping back into the tank through old line. The fuel should flow as usual if you have ele...

Re: Gyro headsets
Attached is photos of my Hazz lightspeed setup. The headsets are over 10 years old but the Quality with the Seinnheiser headphones and Hazz noise reduction is unbelievable. The Lightspeed headset has an inline volume control. I have drilled a hole in the bottom of the volume control and solder 3 wir...

Re: Gyro headsets
I have modified my Hazz earplugs by removing the noise filter and replacing them with Seinheizer Anr headphones. A plug similar to the Cep system was then fitted to my David clarkes. Volume control is through David clarkes. It works perfectly, i have the hazz in my ears with David clarkes over it. Y...
