Re: Sycamore gyro's with aluminium rotors

Hi Braam

How can the MAUW be 450 kg and empty weight 380 kg ? This gives you a 70 kg pilot with no fuel.

Is this not a legacy issue from the first registrations when microlights were limited to 450 kg and subsequently increased to 600 kg ?

Re: NIC PRINSLOO

Another point to add to the buyers list Get a TCU printout before buying This will confirm the number of engine hours. Only the Magni’s flydat read the TCU for engine hours the rest of the Gyros use a separate hobbs meter. The engine charging the battery activate the hobs meter , the readings will b...

Re: NIC PRINSLOO

Hi Splinter Log books for an aircraft is not the same as your cars service manual. Lost logbooks have to be reported to the police and CAA. My flightbag with flight folio in was stolen out of my gyro. CAA required not just an affidavit but a police case number for the stolen document. I feel really ...

Re: NIC PRINSLOO

Hi RV-12 It is true to buying any aircraft but the Gyros have its own unique issue. The issue with Gyro buying is that it is usually done by people who have no aviation experience and wants to fly. Gyro training happens 99 % in owners plane AFTER the transaction. These newbies have no experience or ...

When did the new fuel tanks become available ? I refer you to your post in 2011 that a prototype is already been tested for the M16 Re: Gyros burning after impact? Re: Gyroplane Stability and Aerodynamics - Glasgow Universit

Then these Proffies of yours have not flown a raf in both configurations if they came to the conclusion that a gyro is insensitive to changes in the tail plane.

Sell me a Raf kit with a tail and I will buy it. It is too expensive buying a std raf and modifying it.

Re: Gyroplane Stability and Aerodynamics - Glasgow Universit

Hi Eben Here is my take on it You guys are doing a great job in teaching pilots to fly the RAF safely. You have proofed that it can be done but it takes longer than other gyros to learn to fly. I have tried the stock standard RAF in South Africa and could not fly it after 300 hours on other gyros an...

Re: RAF 2000 now only,!!!!!!!!!!,

Hi Rocket My advice to you is to go an fly as many gyros as you can before you make the decision: Buy a ticket to Upington and go and fly with Eben. Talk to other pilots who have flown the type of gyro you are interested in and ask them: how many hours their license took how many flights instructors...
