Vesconite

I need few small vesconite (or nylon) bushes to use in canopy latching mechanism. Anyone know where I can find in Pretoria or Centurion?

Re: Close encounters of the Bird Kind

I hit a puff adder on an early morning take off from a tar strip in the Northern Cape. Front wheel went over it but no prop strike. Did a thorough post flight inspection to make sure there are no passengers!

Re: Rotax Regulator and Battery Failures

Incredible ... for a single regulator it is R528 cheaper (incl. of shipping) to order from a coastal trike manufacturer than to obtain locally from the agent. How on earth is this possible?

Re: Rotax Regulator and Battery Failures

Thanks KFA. It is possible. Have a halogen light and small battery (no cranking needed). My problems started in flight after the light has been on for an hour or so. Sure to be replaced with LED light.

Rotax Regulator and Battery Failures

I have, on my Rotax 503 / B box based trike, a Rotax rectifier that charges a battery from which I power instruments / radio / comms and light (note no electric starter). In the last 2 years my regulator failed twice. I suspect it happens when the battery fails. I am about to embark on another round...

Re: Posible Storage ideas for Aquilla?

Many years ago I had 3 cylindrical bags made with valcro straps for an Aquilla.... one goes underneat cart, and one on each side of the seat frame. Used it in '98 on a trip to the Okavango Delta and back. One for tent/sleeping bag; one for clothes; ons for food. Works great. Let me know if you want ...

Re: Highest Altitude/Level in a trike?

Did a trip in '98 in my Aquilla to Okavango Delta. I went up to 11'000 ft over central Botswana to get the best ground speed on route to Maun. Sat there for around 2hrs.

These days I am more of a low flyer. Prefer turbulance over that feeling of exposure up there.
