Whisper

Have been flying trikes for past 12 years. After years of "should or shouldn't I?", I ordered a Whisper motorglider, and did my first PPL lesson (1.7hrs) yesterday. Too early to know what to make of the experience. Plan to keep trike though.

Congrats KB . . . you the youngest.

Next question: How old were you when you started flying?

Congrats

Congrats Spongebob. And if I'm not mistaken, then today wasn't the greatest flying weather.

Static RPM

I find with 582 that the difference between static and flying max is about 300rpm. I normally set my prop for static rpm of 300 below the point of max torque.

Savannah

Saw the Savannah the first time in real life at Wonderboom. I agree, it looks a lot better in real life.

Met John, and am of opinion that Savannah is going to become as homegrown in SA as Windlass/Aquilla amongst microlighters.

Savannah

Also considering complimenting my trike with Savannah. Would be going for Kit 2.

Does anyone know if they will exhibit at EAA?

Replacing Coolant on a Rotax 582

Hi Duck,

My radiator is the lowest point of the installation, with the hoses connected to its top.

Replacing Coolant on a Rotax 582

Hi guys

When I drain my coolant, I normally loosen hoses and remove the radiators to poor out the coolant. Is there a more elegant and less messy method to drain the system?

Friday afternoon flying

Had best of intention to fly this afternoon. Last meeting started at 14:30, and I promised myself if it finishes by 16:00, I will go fly. Meeting ended 16:00, but got stuck in traffic on my way to field. Hopefully tomorrow morning it will only be air traffic, and not road traffic, I have to deal with.

CAA does not require 3rd Party insurance, ICASA radio license or MISASA membership for ATF renewal anymore. I registered a plane in my name two months ago, and CAA informed me that all aforementioned are non-required optionals.
