Re: Bushbaby 582 as a first aircraft

It's the best tail dragger to learn on. Don't listen to the hangar talk about tail draggers. If the WW2 fighter pilots could fly them with limmited hours under their belts, so can you. Wonderful aeroplane. The 582 engine, while very dependable, may suffer a bit with a big PAX. Apart from that, DO IT...

Re: Sonerai One - Serial Number 012412-1179

Hi guys,

It's bang on midnight and I've just packed the tools away for the night. Progress has been slow but steady.
I'll try to sift through the various pictures and put a progress report together soon.

Thanks for the interest.

Looks like fun John.

Doesn't look like there's too much interest though.

Pylon Racing

Hi guys, I'm bored! There have been a few fun nav competitions and fly aways planned over the past few years. Some well supported, some not. There are probably various reasons for this. Here's mine: I love flying, scooting around the patch and finding breakfast at nearby fields each week, but the el...

Re: Flying with a foot in your mouth!

This isn't the first time that Atholl has has a dig at Misasa. Wasn't there an incident at Rand Airport about two or three years ago?
I haven't bought his publication since.

Re: Flying with a foot in your mouth!

I know I don't do enough to support MISASA, but really do appreciate the hard work that our committee volunteer. Thank you to each and every one of you. While I cannot criticise MISASA in any way, I could perhaps offer the following for consideration: The EAA does have its act together. I'll give th...

Re: First passenger

As Goose said, I also rarely take passengers. I have taken both of my boys aged five and nine out a few times, and have tried to introduce them to the sport with some success. While I am cautiously confident of my abilities, I prefer to fly alone. My reasons are somewhat different though. The aircra...

Hi Sanna,

It probably would be fine with two up at 90kg each.
I'm conservative, I'm a nerd.

I'm interested in the 3:47 ....

Re: Velocity 173 RG-E For Sale - R350 000 (Private Sale)

I'm curious ....
The aircraft was manufactured eight years ago. In that time, she has only accumulated 3.8 hours total time.
Has an Authority to Fly been issued for the proving flights?

Are there any inherent issues that need to be resolved?

Re: Super Koala for Sale (R100 000 ONCO)

98kg x 2 is pushing it. The aircraft weighs in at 220kg. Add fuel and you're left with around 180kg for pilot and pax. That's pretty much on MAUW. In JHB, at altitude you're asking for trouble. Particular if the DA isn't in your favor. I weigh in at 85kg in the morning, naked, after my morning dump ...

Re: Sonerai One - Serial Number 012412-1179

Hi Goose,

To date, all of the cross members have been cut and notched. The next step is to bend the longer on and tack that lot together. I've been a little tied up with life at the moment, but I'm keen to get stuck in and start making some real progress again.
