Re: Justin's Raven
Wow Justin you have my sympathy. Only by reading this I'm getting frustrated!! I have always liked the idea of going for a VW (or other car) engine in a homebuilt but it seems to be way toomuch hassle. (Perhaps except for oupa's BMW). Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Hey Oupa this thread has slowed down considerably.... is that as a result of using the wrong prop? Sorry could not resist!! Can you share what the reduction on performance was with the loaned prop? I assume somewhere there is a trade-off? Or was the Beemer under propped? It would be very i...

Re: Justin's Raven
Any news Justin?
In hindsight and withyour experience withall the engine rebuilds for this project, would you still have gone with VW/aerovee ? Seems like you were very close to having a good running engine?

Re: Justin's Raven
BTW is the reg FSR a legacy from the OS FSR model engines form the '80s ? If so it should be a very reliable plane

Re: Bushbaby Explorer 153
Congrats on your first solo Juan! There is only one first time :)! Regarding the windows. Firstly its generally a good idea not to leave right angle corners in your cutouts in aluminium. Rather leave a radius on each corner to prevent stress concentrations in the corners creating cracks in the Alumi...

Wow Rudi! Thanks so much for sharing your scary event with us. This could so easily have ended in tragedy! Well done on keeping your cool and executing a perfect forced landing. Your actions were quick and decisive and that's what saved your life. Even closing the throttle saved your life. Can you i...

Re: Pioneer dualstar
This is really great news!! (^^) Flybynite can you/Stephan elaborate a bit about the problems that have been resolved with this plane? I recall Stephan having significant problems with stability or something that almost seemed as if it was doomed to the scrap heap. I also recall that there were issu...
