Re: Bushbaby # 130 to fly today
Thanks everyone. Very sad luck, on the run up Mike Cathro shut down due to fuel in the cockpit. We found the header tank is cracked and will need to be repaired. Ja Boet. These sleepless nights are not only pre flight jitters, although I was going throught Morph's ramp list, weight & balance etc to ...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Hi oupa-G. Looks really stunning, been watching and drooling. The amount of photo's and detail you have gone into is inspiring. The paint scheme is really eye catching. 11 months and a bit, is really great progress, good luck with your pending test flight. May I ask who will be doing this, yourself?...

Hi Stephen. Many thanks, will give it a shot. Hi AndyCap. Yep, sorted today, told I can collect authority for proving flight on Friday. I do agree, a red spinner is the preferred colour and would look really great, but I had green in the pot at the time and it will serve as a great primer until I de...

Hi Rudi. That looks great and a lot of fun as well. If you have not done the exhaust yet, consider DE GRAAF exhaust systems. 012 379-2143 I was very unhappy with the attempt by the local performance guys in Edenvale so I took the fuselage [without wings ] to him in Hermanstadt, pretoria west and he ...

Hi Massima, I saw you, as I do all who over fly and wonder who will brave the runway. Werner has it taped, as does Mike in his Samba, Dennis has also been in with his Sabre. Please feel free to drop in anytime you want, always nice to have visitors, and coffee's a kettle away. Hi Tailspin. No red fa...

Hi Ant. Nice to hear from you. I procrastinated for a while deciding exactly what to do, then we started in October when I had all the bits and pieces together, instruments etc. The last month or two, the last 90% has gone very slowly in trying to sort out radio interference. The gyro and fuel flow ...

Hi Morph. Yes, the radiator is mounted where you had problems. If the pics were yours, I saw the brackets you describe. I have been assured that my installation will be fine and that when she flies all temps will be normal. I am worried though as the water temp goes into the yellow when the oil temp...

Re: Bushbaby Explorer # 130
How frustrated / dissapointed may I be? On Friday 7th August my documents were sent to the CAA for authority for proving flights. I was told to collect before 15:00 as they clock off that time. I tried to phone many a time, but when finally on my way and I could see midrand, the traffic was a dead s...

Sorry to here about your loss, have had a couple of break ins on our small holding. You dont mention if you an alarm system. I have fitted an alarm system, no armed response, but I fitted many sound bombs in the primary rooms, ie, access away from sleeping areas, the tv room, lounge, study and hange...

Hi Boet.
We fitted the axels and spacers Peter had turned, but not fitted the brake system yet to test.
I will speak to the postman today and see if he will trot down to you with the old axel's.
Regards,
Nico

Re: Yesterday at Microland
Can be very scarey, and it will only take a collision for everyone to wake up. Bank in Jan 1996 I was coming back from my first cross country at Microland with S. Roe in the back seat and on downwind an Airforce Puma bombed through about 150m ahead of us at our altitude. I was rather rattled and Ste...

Many thanks for the pics Tailspin. The lights will be fitted from the inside of the cowl when the cut out's are complete, the oil cooler's sides are being rounded and extended to the cooler. I can imagine that there may be too much cooling there but there will be space between the oil rediator and c...

Hi Tailspin. Thanks for your kind words. Had a major setback on Wednesday. I finished the first tin of paint on the underside of the wings as per the photo, they came out nicely with a mid sheen I turned the wing over and used the paint from can # 2 [ which was mixed at the same time ] and this came...
