Speedy,

Has your radio problem been solved? If so, then what was wrong?

I have the exact same problem with the exact same radio. I'm going to courier it to Zulu, but let me first check if it's not something obvious that could be fixed locally. I'm in a hurry to have it working.

Regards,

Hi FlyKR, I'm into Project Engineering in the Control & Instrumentation side - that meant every so often re-locating to where a new project would be. God only knows how many times I've had to re-locate, with all of my house. It's scrary when I mention how many times I've moved & when building aircra...

Hi guys, Thanks for the info. I'm rather sure that I'm there as it is right now, even without being re-jetted yet from the coast. Also, in flight I try to keep it below 6000RPM which then seems to be about correct. Whilst we're on the topic, would you please suggest jet sizes for operation at our el...

Hi Willie, Herewith the pics requested. Best I could find describing my comment for now: Please note: We did not have internet or websites back then. So the the pics were few an far in between. These might not be the best pics and the aircraft was still very rough on the outside as I was busy with f...

Rotax 582 RPM

Hi everyone, The original owner of my Mizer is of the opinion that I am far too conservative with regards to safe RPM usage of my engine. 1. What should my maximum static RPM be on the ground? (I can achieve this by adjusting the pitch on my prop) 2. What is the max RPM that the engine can safely be...

Hi Willie, Nah, no serious pitching down moment caused by the belly brake. I hinged it right on the rear of the main spar. It worked EXTREMELY well in slowing the KR down very quickly - as you know Vanderbylpark runway is not super long and I stopped in time every single time. If I would ever build ...

Hi Willie, "Looking for k'' k" ('') In my infinite wisdom, I mounted my carburators on top of my type IV VW engine with a scoop on top of the cowling to relay air to the carburators. During taxi tests, at high speeds, the lower pressure being created on the upper part of the cowling cause...

The guy who bought & restored my Koala in Saldanha recently told me that he does not like flying it at all. He has nearly 200 hours on it & says that every so often he nearly looses it on landings. Although he owns this aircraft, at the moment he pays Johan Froneman to rather fly his Raven 2 hours e...

Hi C205, Yes, the very last leg of the flight was something that I'll never forget. At one moment I had to cut the throttle right back to idle with the control stick full forward against the stop, sitting in a 30 degree nose high and climbing attitude which refused to change, fearing for a tail slid...

Hi everyone, Clem, I will post some pics soon. To round off my contribution to this thread: Rigged the Mizer up for flying and flew her on Saturday. Flew ex MXII from Siera Romeo to her new home (Benedic) in Witbank on Sunday (Yesteday). Very, very strong & gusty headwind! C205, I wish you many, man...
