Re: What prop to use

Valid point, I'm still a De Nekker fan though.
Good prop's, good backup, locally made as well as good conversation.
Also interresting is the fact that the prop threads pops up every few months, and every time we learn something new.

Re: What prop to use

Goose, you can send your Ivo prop to Oom Pieter de Nekker to balance it for you, or you can do it yourself, there is a post somewhere on the forum about that. Take the prop off & assemble it. Make a spacer to fit exactly through the centre hole with a small hole running through the centre of the spa...

Re: Fuel line.

Checked with waterworld, the pipe is made by evinrude, comes from Canada and costs R 40/foot.
Don't think they sell to much of that, I'll stick with the fuel injection hose as mentioned.

Interresting (future) engine ?

Have a look at this engine @ http://www.pivotalengine.com. The idea seems good, as well as the weight to power ratio, if it becomes available. Any other engine ideas you saw lately ?

Re: In-line fuel filter?

Update ;
I downloaded the GUD catalogue from their website.
The GUD BC 68 is the replacement for the Mercedes 001 477 66 01 filter featured by John Young.
It's also a replacement for 001 477 79 01 and EOFF50 Mercedes diesel filters.
There is no BC 69 filter in the catalogue. www.gud.co.za

Re: Fuel line.

The boating guys use a grey fuel line made especially for two stroke fuel on their engines, I think made by Mercury.
I used some on a Basic 4000 I owned long ago without the hassle of getting hard & brittle, any comments uncle Morph ?

Re: Part 24, Doing your own maintenance

I would really like to know where we currently stand with this issue, what may & may not be done by the owner of an NTC aircraft. There is obviously a difference between an owner built aircraft and one that was bought from whoever. With trikes there is a wing that can be removed & refitted to transp...

Re: GEARBOX/PROP

Depending on your reduction ratio difference between the boxes, C box usually 3.47:1 and B box 2.58:1. The C box can swing a longer prop at slower RPM - the Ivo is obviously set for that. If you put the same prop on the B box it is firstly to long and secondly pitched to course for the box. You can ...

Re: Prop research project : Help needed

Pardon the ignorance but what would be the point of comparing the different "static run" data
form all the different propellors ?

Re: Free to air satellite channel info

There are different sets of SABC channels on PAS 7/10, some are encoded and some are not, even though the lyngsat info may say so. You will have to scan all channels and not just FTA. It does come up as open air channels. The correct frequency is 11674, V, Symbol rate 26652, FEC not relevant on my d...

Re: Free to air satellite channel info

Go to www.lyngsat.com , all the relevant satellite info is on there. Find the relevant satellite, it gives you all the frequencies, polirization, symbol rates + FEC if needed. Small dish > 1.2m = KU band (Dstv 60cm / Top Tv 88 - 90cm) Big dish - 1.8m + = C band Make sure you have the correct LNB set...

Free to air satellite channel info

I recently bought myself a free to air satellite receiver & dish, amazing what channels you get for free on the Panamsat/Intelsat 7/10 network. Even LM Radio is back on air, takes me back a long time with their music. Are there any other satellites available with a footprint over S.A. with more (und...
