Re: micro`s over Sodwana bay

Hi 'San There's were guys (used to) operating from Mbazwane. This was about 2 years ago and I'm sure they are still there. From Sodwana drive back to Mbazwane, in Mbazwane carry on straight past mini-circle and then right at T-Junction (to Sibaya). You'll find the grass runway (big) on your right an...

Pilanesberg enquiry

I've received an enquiry from a Jonothan, from Into the Wild Adventures, whether anyone flies in that area, and if someone can do flips for them in the Pilanesberg area. Anyone in that area (Rustenburg maybe) interested ? Please call him at 011 251 5820. Thanks.

Re: Battlefields fly in.

    Gosh, I am a bit embarrassed ! The Battlefields is actually finished as we speak. SORRY ! Ignore my last post on this. This is what typically happens when you loose track of time. Just spent a week in the Kruger Park without cell phones ! Time then passes without diaries !

Re: Battlefields fly in.

Refer my forum request on "AIRFIELDS SOUTH OF NEWCASTLE". Went their on Wednesday last. Beware, 1. Fog this time of the year from Standerton to 20 NM short of Newcastle. 2. Fly underneath it and you should have a 2 NM viz through it and be fine. 3. Not worth going over the muck. 4. AVGAS at Newcastl...

Re: Aquilla 1 wing advise ?

Replacing bungees with string is good and increases performance, but might give you stiffer handling. This is only a matter of getting used to. Secondly, Solo wings should provide you with a batten profile chart. Your battens will change shape over time. The chart allows you to set your battens back...

Re: Airfield south of Newcastle ?

Thanks FlyByNite, having looked on Google-Earth I will go for Newcastle. About the same 25km distance from destination and tarred. Thanks for the reply. Demon, Newcastle has a pub for aircraft bellies. Avgas only, though ! But with current fuel prices, phone before you go just to make sure they have...

Airfield south of Newcastle ?

:?: Other than Newcastle, is there anything closer to Alcockspruit / Coalsbrooke to land a Cessna 150 ? :?:
I have a bussiness meeting on Tuesday, 10 June, at Alcockspruit.
Alcockspruit appears to be about 15-20 km's SSE of Newcastle (according Google) on the R55.

Re: Replacing choke and hand throttle handles on Windlass 503 DC

I am watching this space in anticipation ! Also got my new cable set from Solowings 2 years ago. Still in my hangar, yet not installed. It is more complicated than meets the eye, maybe 3 - 4 hours ? Hence my postponement ! From my re-collection i requires a lot of stripping in the carburator area. A...

Re: Rustenburg Microlighters

Is this the overgrown strip along (on the corner of) the old Rustenburg road and an intersecting road towards the Magaliesberg range, which becomes a dirt road after 1 km ? I think there is one microlight hangar and a cross runway ?

When my wife expected our first son, we went for that 8 month check-up. Doctor's words were: "Congratulations, you are now halfway !". I freaked out, but he was right ! That last month felt as long as the first 8 months ! Hang in, it is looking beautifull ! Not being popular for my patience virtue, ...
