Prop cut back

Hallo Boet.
I did as you suggested, and cut back the prop exactly 12mm at the tips. It has made no difference at all. Still 5100rpm. Will wait to fly to see if any improvements.
Cheers.

I had a 618 on my Rans S12. Although I never flew her after rebuilding, as I could not get anyone down to Port Edward to give me a conversion. I sold it to Rudi Ventor. The motor had done about 265hrs , Contact him. He swears by the 618.
Cheers,
Vernon.

When I rebuilt a Rans S12 with a 618 and C box. I found shavings When draining the box. I found the bolt loose and shim completely destroyed. All I could do was replace the bearings with a new shim. lock tite and torque.
I am not sure if this is a problem with the c box.
cheers,
vernon.
