Part 61 to WCM
Hi All I have searched and asked high and low and no one can give me a definitive answer as to what is involved converting from a Part61 license to WCM. I have asked various people with various answers, been to the RAASA website, their matrix is confusing and offers up no answers to my thick scull. ...

Re: Point Of No Return
Good thread, thanks for sharing, so we can all learn from it. John has pretty much summed up what I was going to say, a quick and easy way to determine the abort point is; If you don't have 3/4 of your rotate speed half way down the runway, call it off. Wind is your friend, as was mentioned, if you ...

Re: Thinking of Instructors
Hahahaha, DH, I hear you, I have been scaring myself in Cessnas, Cherokees and the like for long enough, teaching people to fly, not new to the concept, not to mention trying to squeeze your average twin into and out of 600m dirt strips, for the lodges, with a bunch of American/Russian/German touris...

Thinking of Instructors
Hi All I am looking for some wisdom and knowledge from the good folk here. I am thinking of getting more involved in the field of light aviation, and doing my instructors rating, at the moment I have a Comm with instructors rating but as we all know, the aviation scene is pretty quiet at the moment,...

hi Byron Very little, it is a tiny little pump and a cable and a piece of tubing, you would save more weight by removing your wallet before flying :D The wieght of the system is very negligable, but the oil tank when filled with 2 liters of 2 stroke oil will come in at a kilogram or more, SG of 2 st...

Ah yes MADDOG, memories indeed, I still hold my pen like a dremel tool, throwback from too many midnight porting jobs, working out 7 pages of expansion box formula to try and get it to fit on the bike, should have listened to wise advise the first time "If you get the exact formula you need for the ...

Hi Papa-G Not what I wanted to hear, :( but, yes, I do hear you, and that is why I posted, to get the input of those who know better than I. Unfortunately the later engines that you speak of are just sooo far out of my budget right now that is not an option, that is why I was looking at an old R100,...

As everyone has said, there are pro's and con's to both ways of getting oil into the engine, and it is a matter of personal choice. Way back when granny was a pin up and I was racing motorcycles and life was good, I would only pre-mix, and if the bike came with an auto lube system, it would be blank...

Hi Henni Yes, I do understand the concept of having the engine cowled and baffling to direct the airflow to where you want it, and also to force it through between the cylinders, you are quite right, but in the case of the R100 motorcycle engine which was designed to have the pots hanging out in the...
