Where you based? At moment it a simple convex and should not take more than 5hrs. In Jan there is new legislation although i am told it will still be a convex I am not convinced it would be that easy. There is mass confusion. If I were you I would get it done ASAP, but def before 1/1/08. PS ...

Hi John On the rules in the section. I had it written in a more round about way before this. I think the last line was something like: Try to get as many people on the forum as possible on this. And then after some dabate we can add a poll. So probably way too wide and open to interpretation....

Ok, here is how I feel about the issue. Legislative matter is a forum section which was created because I asked for it to assist in taking your issues to CARCOM and the Commissioner. It is not a general discussion area, and to work it needs to fit into a certain set of rules. If those guidelines are...

Jeez. This topic gets better debate than any topic on legislation? Why do we have a section on legislation, with guidelines, if we really want to debate this? I would never touch any post on another section, other than the porn one I removed in 'accidents'. But this section was created with a very c...

I think the 25 hour inspection just about covers it. Commercial aircraft are inspected more frequently and more stringently than private aircraft. It will be important for the 'commercial inspector' to have no direct affiliation with the 'commercial operator', or the operator must get special exempt...

Where the reliability of the engine is in question, such an aircraft should be restricted to ...no flying over built areas. John, this is already the case for microlights. Why then still insist that only a qualified engineer be allowed to work on it? Henni Must it be as reliable as Nationwide's 737...

Dear forum members, I have removed the poll on this topic until a reasonable debate has run its course on the contents. Please use this topic to debate commercial vs private operations, and how you would like to see them separated in the law, if at all. For the 12 of you who have already voted on th...

Hi, looks like I opened a hornets nest. GOOD! It was debated, both me and "skybound" has asked in various posts how will Commercial be different from Recreational. I was ignored, .... Rudy, each topic needs to be debated on its own for this forum to work. Passing comments in related topics is not a...

I think it is pre-mature to vote on something which has not yet been debated. Many people change their minds during the course of debate, and that is exactly why we discuss it.

Please open a debate first, and then add a vote after 3-4 days...

Hi Rudi Just to set the record straight. David and I have not had a commercial interest in microlighting for well over 6 months, and we do not intend to get back into commercial microlighting, but only keep it as a hobby. We do, however, have many years of experience, and our opinion is based on tha...

As I understand it the above regulation means that: 1. As a microlight pilot you have to have an extensive maintenance schedule which you have to adhere to. 2. All maintenance will have to be in accordance with this (if Rotax tells you to mic the cylinders at 150 hours, you have to, plus crank, plus...
