Hey Gav, thought that you would be at the festival of flight yesterday. When is the sunbird going to fly? Has mike done the inspection yet?

Re: Zodiac 601 XL Project

Thanks Martin, two and half years to date (plus my two children were born in that period) so not exactly a fast build but the fuselage is pretty cool especially making airplane noises with the canopy closed. On Tuesday of next week I will going to Bundu at Zynkraal to learn and wire the wiring harne...

Re: ch-750 plans built project

The fire extinguisher thing could be nonsense but for dents it sounds reasonable. I have a dent in my horizontal stabiliser which is fortunately covered by a fibreglass fairing...will still try to take it out as otherwise I will know that it is there!

Re: ch-750 plans built project

Looking good. Incidentally I have removed the odd ding with the back of a spoon but heard (or rather potentially believed someone else's bullsh*t story) that on for example a leading edge ding you can use a CO2 fire extinhuisher (hopefully without suffocating) to cool the ding so that it contracts a...

Re: Conrads CH 750 Project

Hi Conrad, nice to see the progress you are making. What are you spraying with, how much does it cost and where do you get it from? I need to spray interior pretty much now. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: ch-750 plans built project

Hi Maxmart, the extruded ali is more difficult to source but last time I visited Alclad at Lanseria they did have some in stock. I'm sure that they can order some if you drop them a line.

Cheers

Re: Zodiac 601 XL Project

Spent the last few days attempting to install some form of custom flashing to pretty up the front of the canopy. The plans purely call for the front canopy hoop which is then visible through the canopy and doesn't really look great so I have been working on a fix to that. I did not want to lo...

Now I know why you do it...

Well, after a long time playing around in fixed wing aircraft for a number of years, I finally went up in a weight shift at Microland (courtesy of a voucher from the wife for Christmas). Before I had actually flown in one myself I really wondered what the attraction was (I thought it might a fetish ...

Re: Zodiac 601 XL Project

Hey Big Mac..was off line for a couple of days recently. Not much progress to date but pretty much finalised the instrument panel display with the exception of changing the cubby hole/hatch on the right hand side to a small slave screen (like the DVD player screens you see in the back of headrests i...
