Re: Glove Topic Again :-(
Yes Bundy, these work for me all the time, not ideal especially when they get wet in the morning due to the morning dew on the grass. So I will try the bag idea but will have to use Woolworths bags to keep the image up (Checkers, Pic'n pay Spar... not) I wear them primarily because they have a decen...

STUD ROOSTER A farmer went out one day and bought a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says, 'OK old fart, Time for you to retire.' The old rooster replies, 'Come on, surely you cannot handle ALL of these chickens. Look what it has done t...

Re: Some Humor
After having their 11th child, an Irish couple decided that that was enough, as they couldn't afford a larger bed. So the husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn't want to have any more children. The doctor told him there was a procedure called a vasectomy that would fix th...

Warm Fronts
Do we get warm fronts in SA? I have only ever seen cold fronts on the weather forecasts. (I am expecting one or two smart answers to this one).

Re: MPL - how many hours did it take you?
It took me 21 hours, around 6 hrs a month. A lot depended on the weather and it was OK having the instructor around taking longer also gives you a chance to fly in various weather, crosswinds, morning, afternoon. The solo is amazing, I was lucky to have mine recorded & copied to CD. The next part in...

I have been recording this series on DSTV (I've programmed the record all in the series)- well worth it - (as long as you don't mind American warbirds being faster, smarter & better than everyone elses! ) Discovery World Channel 250 Showdown: Air Combat F4U Corsair vs. Zero F86a Sabre vs Mig ...

Re: Bi-focal Sunglasses!!
I have been wearing glasses for 15 years. the shock to me was my first eye test. I could see a nail in the wall at 3m and also realised my son had eye lashes! My gradual loss of good eyesight was very subtle and its like watching your kids grow up... you don't really notice it. I am very short sight...

Wonderboom Airshow - maybe yes maybe no
Hello Gents. I Heard about this one from Jakaranda Radio this morning. I need to tick a couple of things off my bucket list (DC3, Harvard, Hawker Hunter (blown as Thunder city has gone) and some gent mentioned flights on a DC3 (Gooney bird, Dak). Well I surfed the net for some serious amount of time...

Re: Thermals & Trikes
Thanks guys. Lambada, thanks for the offer, your number is filed away for future reference. John, I've watched the Jay & the Snake team do their stuff at 12:00 for airshows and have huge respect for the challenges they face there - especially formation flying. Beats me why they have to fly then, (pr...

Re: The Danger of the Whipstall
There is a fairly long write up in the FAA website on whipstalls & tumbles (www.FAA.gov/library/Manuals) weightshift. Its a big file all about trikes but well worth the download if you have the linespeed/patience.

Thermals & Trikes
Which way do thermals turn? I guess as its a "low" it would be clockwise. Which way should one travel in the thermal to get the best lift if there is a best way considering the trike is moving in a parcel of air? I prefer to be back on the ground before 09:00 but have had some very unpleasant, thump...

Microlights (Trikes) in Mauritius
I am being cursed having to spend 10 days in Mauritius late January.
The problem is I have to sit on the beach - ignoring all the talent, ( Sweetnessosuarus Rex will be present.)
Does anyone know if they do trike stuff there? Seems like a good thing to do and must be quite spectacular.
