Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Oupa-G, what's the weight now that you have the final legs? I see that there's an extra blade to fit under the main gear. Or is it going to fit above the main gear? Is that to make the gear a bit stiffer across the section under the fusealage?

Re: Radial Explorer Project - Da Animal
Hey Boet, hope you'll not be to windgat with George's aerie. Actually with a plane like that, you'll have to fit rolldown windows to taxi with your arms resting in the open window...lekker windgat passing the other people on the show. I remember when I was still in school and I was asked to drive a ...

Re: Justin's Raven
Yep, it was me who asked. Thanks Justin. How much faster is your stall speed with this wing? And it looks like around a 7m wingspan that you're going to have. Are there any other Raven planes with this wing flying around? I see that Carl kept with the full span ailerons and there's no flaps. With th...

Re: A Scary moment
Had the same type of experience a few months back. Look at http://www.microlighters.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9667 . Different time of the day, but nearly the same temperature and also wind gusting. Glad you're okay, because I know it had rattled me for a long while afterwards. Everytime you take-of...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Oupa geez, I can't wait for you guys to start with the trials. It's all so exiting with this new unknown frontier in front of us. The BM engine, the landing gear, the performance of the aerie and all the other stuff. The only bad thing now, is the fact that you cannot quickly walk over to the plane ...

Re: Justin's Raven
The end cap on the stabilizer doesn't fill up the whole area. So there is a small triangular piece that's not covered. So he's makin' small triangular pieces to fit in that area.
Justin, is there a rule about how far the rivets must be from the edge of the part? And if, why?

Somewhere there must be someone who knows someone else who knows something about the electronics on this one. It's all so interresting with all this new developements in making our passion much more reachable, moneywise that is. Boet, you've been looking a long time at The Animal and now you seems t...

Hey, you okes mustn't make the belt drive so bad. The pikaninie-fly-a-ma-thingie that I use to fullfill my uttermost desires, only relies solemnly on one belt driven air screw. Now you makes me think that I will be screw(ed) in future time. Personally I think the belt drive will have it disadvantage...

Aaah, but now, would you be so kind and inform us mere uninformed mortal souls out here, what in the horses ar$@ is Zinc Cromate and micro balloons. Don't worry about the thinners though. But why do you mix that particular substances together and how does the initial mixture looks and feels? You've ...

Re: Radial Explorer Project - Da Animal
Funny thing is; 60 years ago, during the second world war, they could design and built a completly new design aeroplane and have it ready for the fighting front in less than 3 weeks. But in this modern age we're living in, they can't get a simple part in from another country in that amount of time. ...

Re: Landing on the beach
Thinkin' about it and just thought about this: A micro landing on a beach, using only about 150m of shoreline. That is less damage than 3 people walking along the beach for 1km. And you can only land on the hard wet sand wich gets damage by the incoming tide. So there's no damage to any ecosystem wh...
