PROPELLER ADVICE

Hi I know that there are some clever folk out there who know these things. I am looking for some wider opinion on this before I blow more hard-won cash on trying to fix the problem. I have a Safari, with a 912 95 HP Rotax. It was delivered with an in-flight variable speed 2 blade prop. At 5 000 RPM,...

Re: some humor

Dear Tech Support, Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend to Husband and noticed a distinct slowdown in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend. In addition, Husband uninstalled many other valuable programmes, such as ...

Re: Microlight wing "snaps" during takeoff

Gert, it looks like the aft end of the centre bar (keelbar?) is not carrying the weight of the sail until the snap, then it it fully supports the sleeve under the bar. This is very clear in your still pic above. Right after you pass the tree, after the the snap, you can see the full weight being car...

Re: Should RAASA be scrapped?

If it works, and works really well, why change it? If this is how 'red tape' can be cut, lets see if other Departments can adopt the same or similar models, appoint proficient personnel who do give a damn and make necessary admin a pleasure (or at least, not a major drag) for everyone.

RAASA stays!

Re: Flying jokes, quotes and chirps

New definition for S.O.S. A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F-16 flashed by. The jet jockey decided to show off. The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, 'watch this!' and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrie...

E-Box - free play?

I have noticed about a 1 cm or slightly more free movement in my 72" P-Prop tip movement, before the crank of the 582 turns. What would be 'normal' free play?

Re: Friday funny

Putting my money where my mouth is, here is my last postable Friday Funny: An old Pilot sat down at the Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee. As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him... She turned to the pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?' He replied, 'Well, I've spent ...

Re: Friday funny

A cop was on his horse waiting to cross the street, when a little girl On her new shiny bike stopped beside him. 'Nice bike,' the cop said. 'Did Santa bring it to you?' 'Yes Sir,' the little girl said, 'he sure did!' The cop looked the bike over and handed the girl a $5 ticket for a safety violation...

Re: Friday funny

An older gentleman had an appointment to see the urologist who shared offices with several other doctors. The waiting room was filled with patients. As he approached the receptionist's desk, he noticed that the receptionist was a large unfriendly woman who looked like a Sumo wrestler. He gave her hi...

Hey Guys - its Friday! Where are the funnies? You can't not keep this thread going, especially having started with such crackers as these previous posts.

I know I can also post some, but none would not get past the Mods!

Bon Weekend!

Re: 2-Stroke Oil, Best place to buy in Cape Town?

Grumpy is on the numbers there. For the last 8 years, Freddie Stafford of SOS has been supplying my oil for everything: bike, commercial vessels, aerie. TC 3W is literally half the price of Midas - but don't tell him! Apart from highly service orientated, he gives unbeatable advice of any lube issue...

Re: ROTAX 582 - High EGT

John, My needles only have 3 notches, so bottom it is. Water temp on a recent long flight hovered between 69° and 73°, with air temp of around 22°. EGTs get a little over 600° (605° - 610°) under full power climbing. All sweet! I removed the fuel flow sender as a possible cause of fuel flow restrict...
