Thanks haainel,

In no rush to get rid of her, I already turned down a cash offer of R30k - Let me know when you are back in SA and we can make arrangements to view.

Re: Aerotrike Spirit II (Safari) for sale R45k neg

It has a 4:1 ratio E-box (reason for the 6 blade prop), yes electric start
ATF expires next year April I think, but you would need to re-do this in any case to get her registered in your name

It is an Aerotrike Spirit II (virtually same as an Aerotrike Safari) Rotax 582 grey top Just under 600 hrs Jenya did the sail - still in very good condition Built -in Pilot III GPS...

Re: Size jets for Rotax 582

The reason AP's specify the richer jets for highveld use is it makes the engine (and more importantly) the pistons run cooler. Two strokes are fuel-cooled. It also eliminates engine outs when flying to the lowveld if you've forgotton your lean jets in. The engine is thirstier on 165's - If you want ...

Re: Rotax 582 Coil Rewire

The black coils are high tension ignition ones - not charging. If you have another used coil you can remove one of them and re-solder it in place of the burnt one. If the charging coil is damaged it is a complete re-winding excercise (unlikely as it is a very thick pice of copper - Only found one in...

Re: Scratch build a Trike

I have not investigated these failures - It probably has to do with dynamic loading/cycles on some critical surface (tail). This normally only happens to fast aircraft. It means some part got exposed to high frequency loads (Like flutter) The other factor is that commercial aircraft normally does ga...

Re: Scratch build a Trike

Remember that fatique is liked to the number of cycles. You get S-N curves for material that you can use to estimate the number of cycles a material can withstand. If you know the stress in a member you can use this curve to estimate how many cycles it will take before failure. How often will the tr...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI

Thanks for the reply guys. I've been trying to educate myself with regard to electroninc engine control as I want to convert one of my old 4x4's to electronic fuel injection. It is diffeerent to using an engine in an aircraft. Am I right in saying the following? I thought of using the wideband lambd...

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI

Hi Oupa, I'm interested to know how you tune for economy - Do you use EGT? Putting electronic control on engines is the only way to get them 100% in my opinion - Now if we can only get a kit for a 503! Those infra red thermometers are very handy - I use them at work. Just a cautionary note - The rea...
