Re: RAF Flight Behaviour

When I was last in Australia a couple of years ago, I spoke to the chairman of the gyro association at Caboolture airfield. He said that they had an incident with a Magni where the prop (either did or could - I cant recall which) hit the rotor (while the rotor blade was stationary) whilst taxiing. T...

Re: Registration letters on Gyros

Hi Leo How are you still keeping way "down under"? I understand why the Z is left off your registration. There is a hell of a lot of water between you and your next neighbour that has a different prefix to his registration. Hear we are in flying distance to any one of our neighbouring states with a...

Re: AMPHIBIANS AND S.A WATERWAYS

That looks awesome! That was my dream 20 years ago, hence the TBird on floats earlier in this thread. Did a number of in depth proposals to DCA Mauritius at the time and went to many meetings with the deputy director of aviation in Mauritius The amount of effort, time and expense at the time came to...

Re: Service Garmin 296

Try this first - please note with the second 'hard' reset below you will loose all stored data - it is a 'factory reset'. Press and hold the "Out" function and then press and hold the "Power" button until the "I Agree" message comes up. This only resets the satellite locating function and you should...

You can also try chat to Trevor Davies. He got all the paperwork in place for developing the amphibious Thunderbird. http://www.tde.co.za/ That was my TBird a looooong time ago. We had a lot of fun on Harties. Trevor fitted Full Lotus floats on a magnificent custom structure for the TBird. Trevor g...

Re: Rotax 914 Servo motors

I believe that the Rotax 914 have servo motor problems. A number of servo motors have given problems recently, to the degree that the agents don't have stock. It takes 3 weeks to obtain spares. Firstly does anyone have access to a Rotax 914 servo motor ? Secondly I feel having to wait 3 weeks for v...

okflyer, the link you provided is different to the link that I posted of an ELA. Your link is an accident with MT03.

Terrible - any accidents are bad news........

Lion, you are right it was a Magni. But I did not want to blame any brand. It is not brand related. Have you read the german or spanish report? Here the German one (I can read spanish un poco but for translation I need mucho vino tino): http://www.bfu-web.de/cln_030/nn_223970/DE/Publikationen/Unters...

Re: The Rotortec Clouddancer project

okflyer here is the link to the ELA fatal accident . You refer to "several deadly incidents happen (Mallorca with a Magni, Breidscheid with a MTO etc.)." Perhaps you should consider a retraction/correction of this statement unless you can provide links to the "deadly incidents" of the gyros you have...
