Re: Weight shift training in Eastern Cape.
Hans at least you are a pilot. The trike situation is far worse . Where can someone go to learn to fly in the whole Eastern Cape. A renewal one can go and do as a one off in one day but to learn tofly takes months Iin a trike.

Re: Weight shift training in Eastern Cape.
OK Vernon , hso if I read you correctly the nearest instructore in the east is at Emoyeni. Wow that is far from us. I have had no reply from the western side of East London. Hope someone responds. North of us it appears Bloemfontein is the only active school. Graaff Reinet does not appear to be in o...

Re: Weight shift training in Eastern Cape.
That is why I am asking. Uitenhage pilots have been in that situation for a while now. It is not viable to run a school for the low numbers and it is a real hassel for them to come up here. They are not the only guys in that predicament. Further away from Wings Park are more pilots like these. Remem...

We get many enquiries and want to see more trikes in the air. 3.where are guys going for renewals if there are no other sc...

Re: Micro instructor required
I spoke to somebody in Port Elizabeth and apparently there IS an instructor and a Flight School down there. I suggest you contact them through John Huddelstone. Would be nice if someone rrom there gives us somd feedback since one would like to assist trike pilots down there.

Something does not add up. Who is doing the renewals down there at the moment then. John Huddelstone zpparently got a school registered. The word is that an instructor from up country now there. Or have we got our facts wrong.

Re: Winglets
My personal experience results in still air is very good. 10 mph more with bar in about 90% . At slower speeds about 6mph more. Take off run definitely shorter here at the coast by at least 20% . Very stable in turbulent air. NOTE ,!!! THERE IS A DISADVANTAGE. When coming in to land the wing is not ...

Re: Fixed wing microlights
How about the agents bring a Quicksilver down to Wings Park for the National Convention on the 8th, 9th and 10th of August. There are 7 trikes here and it would be a good marketing venture.

Re: Winglets
They WORK At mid range revs my Aquilla flew at 43mph. Now flying at 47mph. With bar pulled in about 80 percent top speed of my trike was about 53mph. Now 64mph. It was in still air late afternnon. Aircraft more stable and take off run much shorter. Bar required less pressure to be pulled in. This is...

Re: How high is high?
I think in my little bit of experience the height does not get to one so much up to about 7000 ft in a trike. After that the cold sets in and the time it takes to get up there. Remembering that we at the coast find that 6000 ft is high whereas inland it is a lot different. I can only speak for a tri...
