I have a problem on one of the 503 SI engine. After take-off she is running fine on full power, but after the second circuit ( +/- 5minutes) when you apply full power, the engine would not rev to maximum, there is no revcounter but i guess the drop is about 500rpm. It is like it is just holding back...

My 503 has done 420 hours and still no problems.

Maybe Rotax want us all to support other engine manufacturers.
What is the other options besides Rotax? HKS, Simonini, BMW, ..........

I was told by my instructor at Ballito if I need to fly over water that I must always be high enough to be able to glide safely back to land. In other words the further away you fly from the shore the higher you must fly.

I had a similar hassle on my 503, replaced the vacuum pipe from the engine to the fuel pump. It had a pinhole in the pipe about 1cm from the engine. No more hassles after that.

I once had a similar problem on my 503. After checking fuel lines and stripping and checking the carbs it was still the same, I was conviced it was the fuel pump that packed up. Stripped and checked the diafragm but found nothing wrong. Eventually as a last resort I checked the VACUUM PIPE from the ...
