Re: New Engines??

Hi LM, Suzuki engines are widely used in other countries especialy Canada. I personaly think its an exelent engine as are plenty other auto conversions. The problem that I can see is the spares availability in SA, like with the older Subaru engines and solely because of the fact that these engines w...

Re: Why buy Rotax engines?

Willie, I agree totaly with you on all the mentioned issues regarding Rotax engines and all the rules and regulations around homebuildt aircraft. I also agree that your mindset around building or flying should at all times be safety first, and I hear my fellow aiviators and others saying ye easy to ...

Re: Fun flips

nicow,
No unfortunatly not, but I wish I had a camera.Maybe not a bad idea to make a habbit of taking one with when you go flying. It is always a great feeling when you see a fellow aviator in the air, something I've very seldom experienced when flying fixed wings.

Cheers

Fun flips

Hi guys, I took some friends of mine for flips yesterday afternoon. It was quite windy, but still safe enough. Whilst flying from Aeroden to the Hartebeesdam, I was listening for fellow aviators. I heard nothing and was just thinking that I might be the only one in the area when I saw who else but D...

503

Hi nickjaxe Sorry for only replying now. It won't start when the engine is still hot, but I'm speculating-haven't tried when it's cooled down. I'm normally so disgusted that I just put it in the hanger and go home. It's somtimes very embarising when you have people wanting to go for flips and you ca...

Rotax Geniune Spares

Hi All, I don't think anybody is dissatisfied with the service off Aviation Engines, and we don't want anything for nothing, but also don't want to pay rediculous prices for spares. I don,t realy see any new design or technology in any Rotax engines that can justify the spares prices. Materials also...

Rotax Geniune Spares

Hi Everybody, I agree that Rotax spares is very expensive. I also don't understand the point made about possible claims, because as far as I know the two stroke engines are not aircraft approved, so you fly at your own risk. Noboddy can justify R50+ for an O-ring, especially when Rotax states that t...

503 info

Hi everybody,

Thanks for all the input from you all. I gues I should have made sure prior to fitting the 148 jets, even just for a test. It's a R3000.00 plus mistake, but that's what yiou call the school off learning.

Regards and fly safe

Info om 503

Hi All, I need some advice on a 503 dcdi. I brought the trike up from the coast a while ago. I have been battleling with getting the engine to respond quick when reving it . It had 158 jets which I changed to 148's just to test The engine reved much better, but I had to do a forced landing yesterday...
