Part 96 & Part 62 - How to comply as a PPL?
Hi guys I am investigating the establishment of a Part 96 operation. I know that it can be a long and expensive process to get an AOC in place, have the aircraft`s ATFs amended for Part 96 etc, but that is not what this question is about. My query relates to the pilot licensing requirements for Part...

Average annual cost of `being in the game`
Hi guys As someone interested in the LSA side of things, what can one expect to pay per year just to be `in the game`, i.e. before aircraft operating costs. I`m thinking about: 1. Aeroclub & EAA Membership fees: R630 (yes?) 2. Insurance: What is required, R5000,000.00 3rd party? Average premium? 3. ...

Re: Ezulwini Lodge Fly-in
Hi all If there are any `real` aircraft ( :lol: ) flying to this event that cannot operate from the Ezulwini strip, there is a fair amount of secure parking available at Hluhluwe airfield (FAHL). We have a fenced-off and electrified site, and Mr Pierre Conradie from Alpha security has kindly made a ...

Questions regarding Part 141/62/96
Hi guys I would appreciate guidance on two questions that I’ve got: 1.Does conducting Part 62 training under Part 141 constitute a Part 96 operation, or is this a separate section? If not, do aircraft engaged under Part 141 still need to comply with Annex A of Part 24 (Airworthiness: NTCA) of the CA...

Re: Logging of flight time - different classes
Appendix 62.24 - RPL Logbook, shows fields for LSA, CCM, WCM and Gyros, almost the same as single and twin time in Part 61. Therefore I'll be logging all Part 62 hours in this logbook, and all Part 61 in my other logbook.

Re: Logging of flight time - different classes
Thanks Wargames, those were the lines along which I was thinking, but was wondering if there was anything in he regs about it ('coz I haven't found anything
)
Just found it interesting that there seems to be a grey area, but then I guess it can be expected as Part 62 comes online...

Hi all I've posted this on Avcom also, as well as phoning two airschools who are/have been doing NPL and PPL training, as well as RAASA and CAA, but am still none the wiser... :!: Situation: I'm a comm pilot who has recently done his LSA Class C Instructors. I hope to start instructing soon, but don...
