I have been flying weightshift by hire for more than a year. None of the places where I hire have asked me to read and sign any paperwork related to insurance, damages or excesses thus far. I have not received any verbal briefing on insurance/excesses or my possible liabilities from the places eithe...

I am officially jealous of:

a. Your great looking trike.

b. The long haul flight you undertook.

Were the the mountain pictures above taken in the Eastern Freestate? The
sandstone looks somehow familiar.

ozzi explorer

Thanks Tobie and Perry. The referral to Mad mappers has been most usefull. I have purchased a set of electronic maps from CD Mapping and Surveys. Their service was very good. I have now played around with calibrating some of those maps from Mapping and surveys into Ozzi. I have a question however. I...

ozzi explorer

Thanks Perry, At the price it seems a bargain. What attracts me to the software at this stage is that you can print a map segment to the scale you want, with all the route planning info and nav detail on it. No folding of expensive maps. I will initially use it without GPS as I am still pretty much ...

OZZI EXPLORER MAPPING

I have been playing around with a trail verison of Ozzi Explorer mapping software earlier tonight.

Now I need some advice/opinions!!!!!

Is it worth buying (around R500.00 it seems) is there something better in that price class?

Which brand GPS works well with it, or not ?

Regards

COST OF AP

As a non owner that regularly hires to fly I have the following questions: What is the price range you pay to have a ml ap'd. What is the AP supposed to check, is it just the airframe? And yes, it seems to me you either learn quickly or you are taken for a ride( or maybe a flip). Fortunately this fo...

living and working in dark africa

Hi Junkie. For some reason I cannot find my atlas rigth now but I suspect Kigali is not in the DRC but in Rwanda. I spent 4 months in DRC earlier this year. The living conditions are pretty rotten. The safety situation varies from region to region. In the East, especially Northeast it is the worst o...

HOTDOG QUESTIONS

Hi Hotdog. I completed my licence recently at Skyriders so I am also relatively new in flying microlights. I am still busy working out some of the issues you are inquiring about. I do not yet consider myself "qualified" to give much advice but here goes. . . 1. Do your licence irrespective of having...

QUESTION RE SUPPORT OF IMPORTED TRIKES

I have recently seen some interesting ads for trikes from France and other -them foreign places- for sale on the forum. My QUESTION . . . . How well are these trikes (not engines) supported in terms of maintenance, parts availability in good old RSA? Is it comparable to support and pricing for spare...
