Re: Flying with a foot in your mouth!

OK from where i'm sitting, we have RAASA, MISASA and Aeroclub. And maybe i don't quite see where one starts and the other one ends, or what the entire envisioned purpose is for any of these. But so far, every time some gnarly laws get thrown at us, someone from these organisations that look after us...

i reckon with all the effort to minimize radar signature, some big vertical metal plates next to a fighter plane might be a no-no...

back-lit compass wanted

Hello.

I am looking for a back-lit compass for my trike.
preferably big enough to read when the plane is bouncing, and panel-mountable.

for a good quality instrument i will pay what you ask.

Well planned and executed. Nice.
Julious can't have one. He first needs to practice by flapping his arms only.

Re: Winglets

In this, since it's easier to get forgiveness than permission sometimes, and there seems to be some grey area in this, maybe one should decide this to be a minor mod internally, and if CAA is upset enough by that ever one could simply remove them and apologise... :D By which point either a precedent...

Re: Trike night flying

see that is good to hear. i'm assuming that for PPL one needs to train on a silly 1940 blik aircraft, but it won't kill anyone to do so.
so the only question may be, could one get endorsement for a weight-shift type on a PPL? you seem sure that one can?

Re: Trike night flying

I would be very excited about this. if it is a training issue then the training should be made available. i find it rather insulting that for some reason weight shift pilots are seen as naturally inferior. looking at things in USA it seems they can qualify for a weight shift PPL which enables them t...

Re: ADM and Advanced Training Discussion

OK i would enjoy your course if the hotdogs are good... i would be there, but this isn't really what excites me. what i would enjoy much more would be a night rating or something made available for microlghts :) i would gladly spend another 50 hours on instruction for something like that. what about...

Re: PETROL FILTERS.......AGAIN!! But please look

OK thanks for this, i will make sure of it. i would not consider running my motor without a filter. suppose in that case it has no advantage playing around with the auxiliary line's filter position either, since if the filter is contaminated one would lose the motor anyway. so wherever the pump / fi...

Re: PETROL FILTERS.......AGAIN!! But please look

so quick question: regarding filter positions. for an auxiliary fuel line. in that case, the life of the electric pump is not a major concern since the pump is only used rarely. as an option to NO fuel filter on the auxiliary line to get clogged, could it be more reliable to fit the pump before the ...

BRS?

Hello. something's been bugging me regarding those BRS things... - Most of the shit one picks up happens really close to the ground - probably only 1/3 of that is engine trouble. the rest is crosswinds / landings and flying into cables + things under power. i used to skydive myself + know how much a...

Re: flying in low visibility

thank you, that is interesting stuff. i would read up about them. i imagine specially at the elevations most trikes spend most their time not flying into things becomes a critical issue, even without any other aircraft around.
