Re: china jammer
Mods please remove this immediately, my background is EOD and most recently have developed a vest for car guards that has a red indicator light indicating the use of such devices. These are bad news and South Afica does not need free access to suchequipment.

Re: Wanted fuel flow transmitter
Try RS Components, that part number sticks out like a dogs balls. Its a liquid flow device if not mistaken its a reference voltage output. Probabaly 0,5 to 24 volts and will be given a value in litres per minute depending on fuel flow which will be converted to a readout of some kind. Either in hex ...

Re: Mandatory Transponder requirement
Well unsure of the unit costs, I think the test equipment will be the issue...most probably very similar with current digital equipment. Regarding many machines in a certain area, Rainier is very correct SSR will have a pack of bees and just imagine all the TCAS alarms. Whereas a Mode S speaks when ...

Re: Mandatory Transponder requirement
John and others, if the unit isnt type certified, then we can certainly do something. Costs are in the test equipment. I havent done a BOM for them. But I am sure that between Rainier and ourselves we can come up with something. A non type certified unit will work equally as well as anything with pa...

Re: Advice needed please
The school at Ladysmith is owned and run by Larry van der Merwe, great bloke. he trains on fixed wings and has a C172 a Skyranger and a Cheetah. There used to be a fairly active club when I flew form there, weather in my view is the best in the country for flying. I think Conrad Steyn who lives on t...

Justin, that is the problem. I attach a pic of the Sandia in a Raptor pod. Instruments have to be moved around but it fits very well. Best option as yet.

Re: Mandatory Transponder requirement
Whoever is attending the meeting, can you ask the two questions ? Can the transponder be Mode C capable only and if so how long will these be accepted for use ? Does the transponder have to be type certified ? These questions will determine whether it is viable to locally manufacture them. MGL are i...

Re: Plug for Microair Panelmount
No problem, the offer to supply rf beads to the forum also stands, I have a limitless supply of the correct units. A electronics recycling company based in Ballito removes these from old tech crt monitor screens, they dont recycle them. So i buy a ammo box full for a case of beer... There are many s...

Re: Plug for Microair Panelmount
Jean Tree..Depending on your revision number, it is best to download from the microair website www.microair.com.au it is advisable to use a seperate intercom, the later versions have a vox intercom. Side tone and mic gain will be an issue if you have unmatched headsets. If using a seperate intercom,...
